going to have to agree. i see all these stories about people talking **** and doing stuff like that uninstigated on this forum. I have never once had anyone do that to me. if anything i get more questions about the car from both mustang owners and non mustang owners alike. yesterday i had a camaro pull up next tpo me whil i was out on the slicks and skinnies and give me a thumbs up before driving off whithout even attempting to run. I get alot more of that around here. Maybe its the MN nicethat everyone talks aboutor something.

I believe the kill, but the details of the story are hard to swallow. He just drove by flipping you guys off? Un-instigated, he asks you the blue book value of you car? Come on.
Anyway, nice kill.

Sweet kill.
Only question is I saw in an earlier thread you pulled 4 CLs on an SRT8 Charger, what was that race up to? Just asking because you should have pulled way more than 4 CLs on a stock, or lightly modded SRT8 unless it was just a low speed 'race' especially if you beat a Z06 up to 115 or so by 1 CL... I mean, it should have been an absolute beating, not just 4 CLs.

quoted for truth. having a fast car is really cool, but it is important to realize right away that there is always some one faster. despite my car making over 750 whp there were lots of cars at the track that would handily lay the smack down on me. granted i was probably the only 10 second car there that drove it all the way to the strip which for me was 120 miles each way.
Hey bickety, i would love to own a corvette so i will make a deal. you buy me a zo6 and i will buy you a termie.

I just get the feeling that it went more like this:
"Hey - how much did you pay for that car? $70k? I bet my Mustang could take you!"
Maybe it did go down that way, but I think 99% of Corvette owners get pigeonholed into to the "My car is the best ever and it can't be beat" stereotype. I was out yesterday and pulled up next to a guy in a bone stock S197 GT. He looked over and I gave him a thumbs up and told him he had a nice car. The guy looked shocked. When I pull up next to a Termie, I usually tell them I love their car and hope to own one someday.
The Corvette guys that play the "price/status" card are not car guys. They're posers. If that was the case with the OP's story, he deserved the beating he got. And as far as being taken by a car on the street, I'd hardly be surprised to get pulled by a car running Mickey's, even if it was a bolt on only S197 GT. It's just ridiculously hard to get traction on street tires in a Z. I figured the OP would have pulled more than a car from a dig.
I raced a 450+ rwhp blown Mustang at the strip (stkjock can confirm the guy's numbers). We both had crappy r/t's so we basically left within .15 seconds of each other. It took me to the 1/8th to catch him (94 mph). After that, it was all over (I trapped almost 11 miles faster than him).

Point being, I have no problem believing a C6 Z06 being beat on the street. A car like JD's would make me look silly, either on the street or at the strip. I think BB's Skittle would too (plus both have the serious driver mod over me). Not all Corvette owners are d!cks.

It's so true there is always someone faster and/or a better driver. If I pulled up to a car and lost at a stop light grudge, so be it. My manhood would still be intact and I would still enjoy my car as much as I did before.
There's a guy (younger) in town with a new red C6Z that I have seen driving all over the place (unusual fora Vette owner)and I'm still stuck in my truck or wife's car for a few more weeks. I will hunt him down when the car is back and ready to be beat on.

We're only rude to the Skittle drivers that sit so low in their car you can only see their sideways baseball hat.
