1st Track Outing / Suggestions
Well, I took my stang for the first time ever to the track tonight it was Street Night at New England Dragway not so well.... I have a 5 speed vert with street tires, 4.10s, and blower = no traction. It was street night so the track was not prepted but my issue was the driver mod and tires.
My best pass was actually my first pass left at idle and feathered first gear and I hit the rev limiter in 4th gear at (6250 rpms)I believe around 1100-1200 foot mark or later not sure. Maybe someone who knows times could let me as I know as I was a full two seconds from 1000 foot mark to 1/4. Note my rear tire diameter is 25.3"

Since I was a vert after my first pass they told me if I ran below 13.5 I was done for the night so I decided to practice my launches and R/T. I had 8 passes in all with my second best 13.558 at 109.95 mph again hitting my limiter in 4th gear again leaving at idle. One good thing that I did ok with was R/T time which I know does not impact ET but my best was .011 and avg. .018 R/T.
My worst '60 foot time was 2.762 but still netted 1/4 at 110.81. Obviously, I need a driver mod and some stickies. If I go with stickies I will need acage and shut off switch for the battery in the trunk.They let me run tonight withoutbattery shut off switch (located in the trunk)but need it next time.
If I go with Mickey Thomson E/T say 26X10.5X17 how much more mph will I get out of 4th gear? If I can cut my '60 time with stickies to say 1.6-1.8 what will I trap for speed given above.
I welcome any thoughts with those who have experience...
All in all it was a really good time except track in 100 miles away from home

As your E/T gets better you trap speed will decrease because your going to sixty better and get down the track quicker. With a 110 trap speed the car probably has mid 12s in it.
Interesting I would think if I cut my ET down I would pick up more speed in 1/4 since i would be going faster earlier in the track ie. 60 or 330 ft? Do you think my car is mid 12s with stickies? I thought stickies would cut ET anywhere from .50 to 1.0 sec?
According to my calculations (online calculators
) you should be able to hit ~115 mph in 4th at 6250 with your current tires. But that doesnt factor in wind drag and such. With a 275/45/17, you should get an extra 5+mph out of 4th.
Get some 26in stickies and go for it!

Do you have any suspension mods? Get some drag radials/slicks ASAP.
so would a 26" tire yield me approximately? Do you have a calculator to input by diameter instead of mm? Someone mentioned to me to increase my rev limiter but at 6250 it is a tad bit in redline already don't think it is a good idea to move it to 6500 with a stock internals and boost.
