Default A4 LS2 GTO vs Challenger SRT8

kind of a first encounter in GTO land... I thought I would share and let you guys discuss it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNyxpFrTvfY

GTO had CAI, LT's and a catback... dyno'd 350RWHP exactly

GTO ran 13.11 @ 105MPH (slow run for this particular GTO, his best is 12.8 @ 108MPH)

challenger ran 13.49 @ 103MPH

looks like it's all hype and no bite... I was expecting a WAY higher trap

with just some diff rear tires it looks like (at least different rims) runs a 8.33 which is roughly a 12.9-13.1

im sure the 6speed will be a high 12 car without any probs.

definately not "no bite" but i still dont think its worth anywhere near the price tag

New issue of Hot Rod threw Cai/SCT tune and catback (2.75") on one and ran 13.0x.

Automatic and 3.06 gears are holding them back.

well I know that much, I know it's still a quick car but let me explain

all the hype about this car is what ruined what I'm seeing in the video I think... so many people were spouting off about it, getting into arguments over it and rubbing it in every forums face known to man

and then when it shows up at the track it produces about the same times as the charger SRT8, stock anyways

just hearing it's name shouted all over and seeing a prettier charger SRT8 at the track was kind of a let down IMO...

sort of like paulie boy coming through the city streets yelling"THE BRITISH ARE COMING!" andthe whole armyshows up with their muskets to see a wagon delivering some english muffins... that kind of feeling

well.. i had to post here so that my name could be in the last posts of all 6-8 of the last posts tonight

I thought everyone was figuring on an srt8 charger style performance? They knew it was just a new body on an old platform (The hype/time it takes to come out with it was the only surprising part) I'm very happy that even on the challenger forums they say it is made to compare to the GT500 which spanks it throughly at only a bit more cost.. Now it's up to GM to up the ante with the new camaro.. which I do like quite a bit.. just hope I can get a 425hp vehicle for 25k from them (This is based on how the 2002 LS1 camaro compared in price to the 2002 GT, from what people were saying here they were the same price)

nice one wheel peel at the end of the "Hot Rod" mag test...

DRs are a big help there for sure.... and WTF not needing a helmet on the first runs.... never seen that

like the stangs.... weight is killing that car!!

They're running 3.06's on the SRT8 challengers? Wouldn't they want to put some better gears on the SRT model of the car? Also heard there's no limited slip... I can't imagine the first model year seems so practical with all these flaws.

The 3.06's are for 2008 model year only. IMO anyone who ponied up for the 08 should get a lot more than $2.99 gas from Chrysler. (Which isn't even available on SRT's)

2009's come with 3.73's, true limited slip rear, and 6 speed manual.

I don't see the 09 R/T model, with M6 and 3.73's, having any trouble taking care of an 08 SRT.
