Default Went back to the track last night

So last night I decided to go to englishtown's T&T again. You're only supposed to get 3 runs in but it was so dead that every 15 minutes I was going again and the track techs didn't mind letting the street cars get in 5 or 6 runs. I didn't really improve my my best E.T. but my consistency is right on. I ran 14.3-14.5 at 93-96 mph for all my runs, and not one of them on better than a 2.269 60'. I know that my 60' could use a lot of work but my DRs and rims should be in anyday now and then I will work on the suspension. I was in my lane talking to some guy and he is trying to tell me that with a trap speeds of 93-96 mph my car should be doing mid 13s, now that would really make me happy but I know the car should only be good for low 14s and maybe with a killer launch a 14 flat. I was wondering what you guys think a good time isfor a fox trapping consistantmid 90s and seeimg to get higher as the temp was going down. For reference it was about 90 degrees yesterday with no relative humidity. I also wanted to ask about gears. Right now the only thing that is stopping me from pulling basement 14s on 2.2 60' is the first 330 feet of the track. After I catch traction the rpms drop to almost unusable levels and I think gears would definatly help me build some speed in the first 330', would the gears hurt my E.T.s or help with that "dead spot" I hit in second?

Sorry dude but your not going to see mid 13's with a 93-96 trap speed. That is unless you can cut a 1.5 sixty. But you will pick up a 10th or two when you see cooler weather. You'll be tearing it up this fall with the sticky tires and the cool air.

I knew that there was no way that the car would be good for mid 13s sitting how it does now, but I am at least hoping for 14.1-14.2 before the power adders come out to play.

I think you could break into the 13s with just the sticky tires.

How far are you from Island Dragway? Last night was a barbecue night. They run it every other wed in the summer from 4 - 8pm (or dark I think) in the summer. $15, free hot dogs/hamburgers, minimal tech and just a single lane open so no match racing. Great deal for test & tune. Unfortunately like three guys broke last night so the lanes kept getting shut down for clean ups. If your there by 5 then 10 passes is normal. I made 8 last night and was taking time to adjust my tune each round plus a break to eat and cool the car own and then got delayed by a clean up.

Island dragway is where? I have heard of people around here going because they say it's almost never crowded. If it's within a half hour from NYC I'm down to go. I live in Bergen county about 5 minutes out of Manhattan. Shoot me a PM with some of the details and I'd definitely be happy to try out that strip. I really want cool air just to see what kind of #s I can pull when it's not 90 degrees out.[8D]

So you're saying with my trap, high 13s isn't out of the question? Thats would be cool if after only some sticky tires and a better launch I could be in the high 13s. Any ideas about the gears or should the tires be enough to get better E.T.s.

if your going to do a power adder, then gears prob isent a good move.

i think i remember you saying you where getting a turbo soon.

that wouldent work out to well with gears, maybe 3.55's
