S197 GT Auto goes 14.7!! *now with Vids*
I went to a test and tune tonight, made 4 passes my R/T sucks but that is probably typical for my first time out here are my times in no particular order:
r/t .278
60' 2.468
1/8 9.682
MPH 77.69
1/4 14.678
MPH 98.48
r/t .648
60' 2.467
1/8 9.724
MPH 76.89
1/4 14.771
MPH 95.33 <- this was my first pass
r/t 1.839 (AWESOME)
60' 2.457
1/8 9.667
MPH 77.52
1/4 14.672
MPH 98.02
r/t .831
60' 2.457
1/8 9.727
MPH 77.35
1/4 14.748
MPH 97.91
Some info on the track: Yellowstone Dragstrip has won awards for being very flat. Elevation, 3570ft Temp tonight, 85-90.. I didn't ask the temp at the track though it felt really hot (like 90)
Typical DA I was told is 6600
Track prep? people were complaining that their 60' sucked, 2.0s on Drag radials and slicks from some very fast cars.
I learned quite a bit tonight.. mostly that.. my traction sucks.. stalling it to 2200rpm then flooring it was no good.. feathering the gas w/o loading torque up was no good. loading up to 2000rpm then slowly bringing it to the floor did no good.. even with all my attempts at different techniques still got near the same 60' I did drop my tire pressure to 25lbs based on some previous threads that showed improved 60fts with it. I let my car cool between laps but by the time I got staged my engine temp was back to the middle again..

Nice runs mishri get that 60' down a bit. The Reaction time has no effect on your ET, it only matters in bracket racing really.
okay for those of you w/o altitude correction formulas, I got the best MPH as 103.2 and best 1/4 as 14.0 correcting for 3700 elevation. I was told by the guys there that at a better track with better DAs they would run 1.5 secs faster.
I don't even have a value for the 6600 elevation.. calculated out at 6000 I get 13.57 1/4 and 105.87
Edit: They told me they were really impressed with my performance, all the other s197s do much worse there.

Do you always spout off before reading the post? Judging from your other posts, you don't even read them to begin with.

The blue smiley isn't "offensive". It is, however, indicative of a negative response. If you were trying to say the numbers were good might I suggest one of these:

perhaps?

Not too bad for that DA. That track prep must have been horrible though. Some people don't realize how much elevation and temps come into play until they run their cars at a track like that. SIR in Tucson is pretty much the same as what you described and I run about 1 second slower there than at sea level.
