Default Lightning or HD F150

Im sure this can be squeezed in the s/s section, take it easy on me mods [8D]

OK, the frontier is nice..........and all.........but its not exactly creaming my twinkie. I need a performance vehicle of some sort. Gas mileage is a factor, but, oh well. So, sticking with the truck theme because I still need a decent dd truck, I thought about these two options. (also the dakota r/t, but I've seen a FULL bolton + h/c/i 5.9L running only mid 13's, [&:]) Stock performance, moddability, and gas mileage are all up for comparison. Thanks for any advice, knowledge, and even an opinion or two [8D]

I always liked the lightning but the HD is probably more practical with it's larger size. The shop where I take my car to has a Ken belle/nitrousHD f150 that runs 11.2s and blows head gaskets every5th run but it sure is fun to watch.

Id get the lightning. Stock performance is pretty good, and it has great modding potential for not too much dough. It depends what you need the truck for though, because I doubt youd be hauling as much stuff in it.

Well, the truck will be a minor duty daily driver. Mulch, trips to the dump, anything like that. I got my hoss for anything else. As far as performance, goes, don't both trucks have the same s/c 5.4L motors?? I know the weight difference will bring about different stock times, but I was "assuming" that the motors were the same.

idk, gonna be a hard choice. If the performance factors are similar between the two, then I might have to go for HD and suffer the consequences with the weight. If I can have a truck with that gooda styling (imo), almost perfectwheels from the factory, and maybe creep it into the 13sec range for not too terribly much, I might have to go with it.

Still looking for more info on both. Im officially off my lazy a$$ and searching, but feedback from ya'll is great too........

both are supercharged.the lightning is lighter and a bit faster.plus the hd 150 is quite a bit more i think.the hd is more of a luxury performance truck.

Ive found 1 of each within 100 miles from me. Hell, can't even remember the exact year, not older than 01. Both had 70-80k miles, my frontier has 78,000. Both were priced at 12-13k, Im paying 16 for my truck. Yeah................ The slightly better gas mileage is, as of now, not worth it.
