Stock LS3's are known to go 11's though > Showroom Stock LS3 ran 11.718 @ 119.94 MPH in Englishtown, NJ off of a 1.839 60'

A better way to phrase that would be "A stock LS3 is known to go 11's".

One LS3 car has done it. ONE.

That 11.7 "showroom stock" should be taken with a grain of salt...I remember reading that the computer was re-flashed to stock...But you cannot verify if all parameters have been reset...furthermore, hearing a cooling fan stay on for a large part of the staging time as well as having a lap top plugged in means something is "Rotten In Denmark"

As for the video....[sm=bs.gif]
I'm the guy that ran the 11.718, ironically this made it to the GTO forums and I felt compelled to clear stuff up lol

It was reflashed to stock and I did not use the computer to cool down the car, infact I was afraid that people would say stuff that I didn't pull out the computer till after the run.

It was a cold day, I kept the car off as much as possible, and did not have the lap top plugged in until after I ran the 11.7. Basically I started the car right before the staging line to have it as cool as possible. I warmed up those tires very nicely and only had low 20 psi in for pressure since they're runflats. I launched at 3000-3500, somewhere in there, and I shifted hard, you can actually hear me chirp 4th.

The video is real, my girlfriend at the time was recording it.

After running the 11.718 @ 119.mph I tried to put on my tune and have a clean run but I started smoking the clutch, it just dropped to the floor basically. So I had to get off the throttle, pull the clutch off the floor, and then get back on it. Even with getting off the gas and back on, I stillran 11.8 at over 120 mph. The clutch problem happened again and I wasn't allowed any more runs after that. I'm thinking it would have gone 11.5 if the clutch problem didn't happen.

I verified it twice the all the tables were stock the day before going to englishtown. My goal was to have a comparison between the stock tune and an aftermarket tune, but because of a little too agressive clutch slipping, I never got clear results. I still however believe the higher mph speaks for itself with getting off the gas and back on.

On a side note, It was cold enough that the actual run corrected to an 11.9.

If anyone's got questions I'd be more than willing to answer them if I haven't already done so.

Andrew

Thanks for clearing that up. I remember seeing you catch a lot of heat in CF. You handled yourself well.

See Boys... This guy is for real. Stock LS3 runs in 11's (next to Z06's)...
Any Questions?

Like I told you before, the LS3 is impressive. But you must realize, the top 3 passes in the LS3 C6 and Z06 are almost a full second apart and nearly 9-10mph on the trap.

I will take Andrews word for the 11.7 @ 119 in a M6 Z51 3.42 on a negative DA day.
On first blush it looksa little funny but the 12.1 @ 116 car thatsnext on the list is a A62.73 car.

Many of the people on the list dont have the opportunity to run at negative DA with a track well enough prepped to hook in the cool air. Most of them are also not willing to kill the clutch for an 11 second slip in a M6 car.

PS I dont buy the video that started this post either.

I pulled a low 1.8 60'. I don't have the slip infront of me to tell you exactly what it was, but it definately helped out. When I was pulling 2.0-2.1 I was running 12.1-12.3, and thats when I first got the car and didn't know how to launch it.

I haven't seen anyone else that had my DA pull the same 60's. Which I think makes the difference. If all the times were corrected I think we'd see a lot around the 12.0 range.

Sorry, I got confused about the videos. My video on youtube of me going 11.7 is obviously real. But the video that started this post definately is not at a track. Its definately fast, but I don't know that we have a 10 second run on our hands until we have a 10 second time slip.
