doing donuts
well im not sure if this belongs here but here we go anyways....
i am making a short video to sort of show off my mustang. hope to post the video here when its done. i have to have a good donut clip but have never done one before. before i decide to go out and experiment, i thought id ask for some tips ("dont do it, its dangerous" is not what i have in mind) for those who do them, is there a technique to it. should i go from a roling stop and turn the wheel and floor it. should i be moving a bit then turn the wheel? what? basically any info would be great
man i feel stupid for asking this

Don't feel stupid cause alot of folks out there can't do visually appealing donuts and there is a bit of skilled involved. Here's how I do mine:
Start off at a stop and turn the wheel in the desired donut direction. Rev to a good 4-5 Rpms to get very mild traction and keep the wheel turned until the car has done about 290 degrees. Then straighten the wheel until the car starts moving and rapidly turn it back to the direction you started. Thats pretty much about it. Its all about the timing.

its on video tape so i'll have to transfer it to dvd then put it on my computer. i love its from a top veiw of the car, so you can see everything, my favorite part is when it is covered with smoke and all you can see the yellow lights and the headlights.
thanks guys. its an auto so ill try what you said fastplan. i did a huge smokey burnout today to test my new limited slip but my camera woman was at work so no video...damn it. o well, thats an excuse to do it again
