Did a call and depending on his setup (turbo ie n20) he can adjust em for the ecu or probly runs an eco tune while driving and swaps to race tunes when he finds one =o

Last time at the track, there was a guy right in front of me with an EVO9, he had a team of guys and they were doing something in the rear seat, he had a bunch of stickers and such, figured he probably had all kinds of gadgets on his car, so we get up to the staging lane and they decide to pair us together, figured I would be toast, he would be running some insane amount of boost and NOS, whatever, anyways we get up there, stage and take off, I take the lead, then at about 1/8 mile he starts to catch up, but not enough, win by about .3 sec.
Get back in the staging lanes, he gets out and looks at me, then his "team" goes back to work doing something in the back seat, a laptop makes an appearance, works out again where we are staged together, close to same result, he seemed very pissed but was telling his friends that everything was working just fine, I just had a grin on my face, sweet !!!

yea thats a joke but i am assuming its a overpowered tunning system....So if i hook up my Custom PC i can give my car 100HP!!! omg! *Starts shoving his computer inside the enginebay*
I find it kinda amazing that they do do that tho i want to know whats in the labtop!

There must have been something wrong with his car, or he just can't drive. Stock Evos are in the 13's for 1/4 mile.

They will have to max out boost on the stock turbo to break 12's. Just saw an white EVO 10 racing a BmW on the freeway. License plate said X u out. haha. I wish i was driving my stang so I could of joined.

These numbers are on stock turbo (without MBC) with only bolt ons. Stock EBC peaks at 19 psi, then tapers to 14. If someone adds a boost controller at holds at 23-24 psi its still pretty safe as long as you're providing enough fuel. Now a totally stock Evo IX is a different story. You would have to be a really good driver to hit 12's with a totally stock Evo IX.

I know the wrx and sti have opensource tuning software.. just get the cable to plug your laptop in and load tunes you can get off the internet.. or adjust the tunes yourself. It will also give you datalogs.. must be a similiar thing with evos.. probably because there are tons of geeks with those cars..
