Default '04 Duramax vs. '04 Focus

well, i got a new truck tonight and finally got rid of the F150 (THANK GOD). it's a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with the 6.6/Allison combo, bone stock with 54448 miles on it. well i was showing it to my friend tonight and he kept on saying that his Focus (ZXT with an intake) would slaughter me in a race, and that diesels were the slowest things on the planet. well i finally had enough of him bad mouthing my new truck, so i took up his challenge. went out to a back country road and ran him. we went on three honks, off his horn. i started in 4 high, launching it pretty good, and let off at about 80mph. he was at LEAST 7 cars back when i let off, and still falling back he came back with the typical ricer excuse "my launch sucked *****, i didn't have enough rpms." when we took off i could CLEARLY hear his car at close to 5500-6000 rpms[8D] all i told him was spinnin' ain't winnin'

Tell him to learn to launch that underpowered turd, and then just admit his car is still a turd.[&:]

To be fair to the focus guy (my best friend has an 03), those cars with a 5 speed FEEL a lot quicker than they are. I've only ever seen a focus in the 1/8th, and it ran in the mid-high 10s.

Glad to see a truck take out a tuner though, that's always funny. Although it is kind of annoying when trucks try to race anything out of their league.

...murderers drive those cars....

seriously, when I'm sitting at a light and you can hear the blower cam, and the whistle/whine, they still try and run me, one of the reasons I no longer go out on friday nights

lol, those new deisels are pretty quick. good kill. now go mod it a smidge and you'll be lighting them up

my cousin has basically the same truck setup as you but has a bully dog tuner, intake, exhaust, and a couple more mods.

with a 4-wheel high launch, i have seen him beat numerous "quick" cars in a race, including a stock S197GT, LT1 camaro, skittles, etc.

has around 500HP and 1000ft-lbs torque
