embarrassing
On Friday night, I met my brother and nephew at this crappy little track and I let him make a few passes. He used to own a 87 LX that was mostly stock and raced it pretty frequently. He has since sold the car and now drives a Taurus (family man). He hadn't been on a track in about 13 years and was driving an un familiar car (mine). After 5 passes, I notice that he is powershifting (I never do this). Long story short my best that day was 13.73 and his was 13.60. I grabbed the keys and said he's done for the day....lol. I guess drag racing is like riding a bike.
yea my buddy showed me how 2 properly launch my car.[sm=wootwoot.gif] because out the hole i was getting riped by people even though i still won. power shifting will really helps some cars practice and take him out 2 the track again and show him whos boss.[sm=smiley36.gif]

my dad ran one of my friends cars a while back and went a half second quicker than the owner...my dad insists that he is always faster than other people in their cars because he doesnt care if it breaks...

Um, you mean there is another option besides power-shifting? I granny-shift on the street on the way to the supermarket or whatever. At the track, there is no other way. I don't care who the car belongs to. You took the keys away, but I bet you kept the time slip!
what's power shifting? is that like feathering the clutch?
n/m, i know what both are now....
in fact i power shift every time i race, i just didn't know there was a term for it, in fact i know in a couple races it's gotten me an extra car length or two on a faster car that didn't power shift
