Default Traction Control?

hey guys prolly a dumb question but how much does traction control slow you down if at all? im new to racing my mustang (2000 GT 5spd.) and any of the fewtimes i have raced i have lauched hard no problem. but myfriends tells me that it boggs down my car and that i should feather the clutch with traction control off. i had no problembeating an sn 4.6 with gears, CAI and exhaust, and i know sn cars are slower but i was just wonder if traction control made a big difference?

really depends on if you spin enough for it to kick in.

generally best to race with it off as if you spin it will slow u down more then pedaling the car

there was only a slight difference in ET + trap (Like .1 and 1 or 2mph) with mine and I have a 5spd too.. oh.. mines the auto 5spd.. same 60' with it on vs off.. I think the bog came from my 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd shifts since it peels out then.

Depends on how bad of a traction problem you're having. It always cost me alot a time.

if you disable it in the 05+then you get these warning lights on your display that is irritating.. (I hate warning lights)

If you read the manual you'll notice that the TCS system cuts ignition (equal to you letting off the gas) and in some instances applys braking (self explanitory) so try racing and then letting off the gas and tapping the brakes and tell me how that works for ya.
