Angry As I Said Previously....

I can't race with a manual.

I just got back from the track, it was my first time with the 06. My best times were in the 14.7 range, at around 96.5 mph with high 2.2x 60's.

This track is just a few hundred feet above sea level...and it was only in the mid 70's tonight.

(Insert pissed off smiley)

I KNOW this car is faster than my blue 2V, which did a best of 13.8x and trapped 99.8 mph. It pisses me off that I am soooo far off from the car's potential.

Epic fail indeed, I deny it not.

LOL...my first run was a 15.3x at 92 mph...I got beat by a freaking Saturn!

Are the smilies on order?

It's ok you'll get better with practice... are you running street tires? Those 60's are strugglin.

Even considering your 60's, your ET as well as your trap is way low.

You've gotta shift harder/faster and you'll bring the 60's down with more practice.

Now you see why it took me so long to get my GT into the 13.8 range, not to mention how much longer it'll take to get the car into its real potential range.

With that trap speed, you may be short-shifting. Using my accelerometer the other day, I ran a 13.50@101.1mph and that's because I spun tire and missed 4th. I don't see how your car can only be trapping -97mph. I don't have much experience with the OHC 2V engines, but the 3V likes to be revved to 6k; at least.

I see in your sig you got the Hurst; so you should be able to power-shift with more ease now. I know it made a HUGE difference in my ability to drive my S197.

Practice.......I suggest an accelerometer; they are cheap on eBay. Even though they aren't pin-point accurate, they are consistent to themselves and it serves as a good guide to how well you are driving. You can try different shift points, different launch rpm's, etc. and it will tell you if you went faster or slower.
