Default Me vs LT1 H/C/I

Pulled up next to an LT1 camaro... didnt think anything of it until he gave a little friendly rev.... I slowed down and asked him what he had he said heads cam intake... so i told him i had the same... about a 20 mph role I was in second.. dont know what gear he was in... he was auto though.... 3 honks we hit it... and i pulled 1 1/2 cars.... rather easy... done it again about 30... same thing pulled him by 2.... very nice camaro and nice guy...

How can this be possible? I read on here a few weeks age that all H/c/i LT1 are 12 second cars.

I would think a HCI LT1 would kick the **** out of you, don't they make in the area of 400 to rear wheels with a decent set up?

That would really depend on the set up, what heads, what cam, what intake?
I can see this as being the outcome rather easy. Autos are not that great from a roll. Take my car for instance, it is a turd from a roll (unless it's like a 20 mph roll) but from a dig it's a monster.

but still, the most this guy would be putting down is 300 to the rear wheels, any HCI LT1has to be making more power than that.

It just seems like he wouldn't be putting lengths easily on a car like that

I think the guy was using the "BS" mod. I've made so many guys eat their words after I raced them. They would tell me the car has stage this cams and stage that heads and blah blah, but after I'd hand them their *** in a picnic basket they'd say oh yeah, I bought the car like that, I'm not sure what it's doing, I don't know if it's tuned, and every other excuse in the book at me.

It could have been a LT4 h/c/i setup. I won't say any #s for sure, but they usually make 310-330 rwhp. I would say that a more aggresive full bolt-on h/c/i car could make 400 rwhp
