mitzubishi 3000gt
Non turbo, it's a turd. 16 second car, 15's if you are lucky. They are heavy as hell. The turbo ones were nice though, 13's are pretty easy to get in those, basic bolt ons and 12's are there no problem.
that was my 1st sport car and I like it. No, it was not fast, however it will leave a 6cyc stang in the dust (222hp vs ur 160hp). My 3kgt weighted about 3200ish pds, so even though there not light cars, I would not say they where heavy. being the 3kGT makes must of it power/tq @ the higher rpm and is FWD, its a all top end car. Maybe a race to 30, it will be a close for you; however expect some rapenss after that.
Now the 3000GT VR-4 is a heavy car @38-900 pds. The 3kGT VR-4 is the twin turbo all wheel drive version. AWD,AWS, and some much other junk made it that heavy

a NA 3kgt should run mid 15's no problem while the vr4 should hit in the 13's...
It's time to step up to the 8 cyc class

99 V6'S have 193 hp, so it will be closer than you think

Add some 3.73's and a T-Lok and the OP will be good to go for sure. Cars like the 3000 usually come with aggressive gearing form the factory, or so it seems. My buddies 89 Supera came with 4.30's. Thats insane for a street car, IMHO.
