I've raced a stock STI at the track once and he got me off the line but I was able to reel him in by 100. He trapped 102 to my 107.
Stage 1 is basically a stock car with a tune (most likely handheld). That basically makes the car pull better in 4th, 5th and 6th.

Stage 2 is turbo back exhaust, intake and a tune (either handheld or custom). That turns the STI into a 12 second car in the right hands. Typical stage 2 cars out down between 285 and 300 awhp.
