I never get races so I don't know what you guys are talking about 
But I would race whoever wanted to race me just so I could see what my car can actually do. I would love to race some exotics just to listen to them go FULL THROTTLE!!!

i will only race when challenged. i hate it when people come up to you speeding up and slowing constantly like a *** hat. i would never do that. if i am instrested i will pull up next to a car. if no interest i keep cruising.

It's about me having a badder car than you, period. That's the only reason two people street race. If you didn't beat me you didn't bring enough with you, hence the reason I drive around on slicks every day and ride no front bar. I'm always 100% prepared and so I know if I win or lose it's because I gave it my best run and either I brought a better car or he did.
I won't do it during the middle of the day unless I'm at the front of the stoplight, the car next to me is worth my gas, and I can see a long, CLEAN stretch of road ahead. I'm driving around on rock hard M/T's and no front bar so I won't race unless I'm ABSOLUTELY certain that I'm not going to spin the tires down the line.

A lot of people try to race me, i usually try not too, but its always rsx's and s197 v6s that try to race me. I try not to because i honestly cant afford the gas, everytime i WOT i can watch my gas go down LOl

what some of you guys reasons are for racing another car. I do it simply as a means of some friendly competition as well as the rush that ensues afterwards. I don't however race or instigate races in order to be an asshat or bully others. The reason I'm bringing this up out the blue, is because of a little encounter I just had while on a Sunday cruise in the SI accompanied by my wife. A good looking S197 GT catches up to me and gets beside me. I look over at him and his female passenger to see him giving me a look that was seriously deserving of an *** kicking. The look on his face as he looked my car up and down was equivalent to the expression given after stepping in a pile of dog shat. At that point he starts blipping his throttle. My wife looked over and asked me, "WTF, are we supposed to race him in the middle of a 35mph zone?" Anyway, he punched it a pulled away from me while I was actually letting off the gas (we were traveling down hill). If the asswipe had of given us a friendly smile, I would've happily graced him with a kill story, but there is no way in hell I was about to give him the pleasure of a kill. I passed him at the next light and gave him the thumbs down for being a douche. After thinking about it, I've noticed that I get wayyy more people wanting to race me in the SI than I did in the Mach. So is it because people were scared they may actually lose to the big scary loud Mach opposed to the SI or what? Just curious what some of you guys reasons are for street racing and what things are you looking for in an opponet?
I make friends at the track, talk about the cars and have a good time, thats what it's all about... I will race any car Fast or Slow, I prefer Faster.. I f I win, Cool If I loose cool too. It's all Fun...
I always get the Si crowd trying to race me, doing fly-bys and blurping their fart cans at me..

im with blue.. i'll race w/e... I have a problem turning down a race when im alone in the car.. lol..
The reason you get more challenges in the SI is because like they said they "know" they can beat you; but the car is a lot slower so you're in the range for a lot of other cars too...
I myself have sized up cars and laughed at them; but not a car like yours... normally the ones I do that to are the ones with 3 wings, underglow and a fartcan in a Honda Accord Wagon.. lol
But the car you're driving doesn't help either.. For instance, there was a night when I was in my Terminator, talking to another Terminator owner in a turn lane; and this kid with a new SI that has a license plate "VTK FTW", or "SI FTW" (can't remember, but was something stupid like that)... yells "How come you don't race a real car?"... I mean, seriously... lol.. but that's indicitive of a lot of the SI drivers that i've met, or seen.... cool ones are very few and far between...

The reason I do it is for the competition, it really doesn't have to be friendly either. I'm one of those hyper competitive ********. I won't however race when there is other people around or traffic. I can't stand it when kids(only people I've ever seen do this) pull up next to me in the middle of traffic and rev or speed up and slow down only to ***** out once the highway is clear. I'll give anyone a shot in the stang or the Si, you never know they could suck at driving.
