SRT4= low 13s
I know some stuff about SRT4s but, I ask you this(SRT4 experts welcome): What does it take as far as mods to get an SRT4 into the low 13s/high 12s at the track??? I am guessing that it is MORE than possible w/ a stock turbo but, is fuel mods neccassary??? What are you looking at??? Thanks
btw, this may be leading to a race and I posted it here since the SRT experts seem to hang out here the most.

i think the most important thing would be tires. i think the car could probably run a 13.5 with slicks and nothing else.....but to get into 12's you probably need a couple bolt ons at least.
i remember racing an SRT-4 on the track when i had just a CAI/tune. i ran a 13.509 @ i think like 105.xx and he ran a 13.8xx at 108. i could tell if the race was 100 feet longer he was well on his way to passing me. he had a stage 2 kit and some other stuff, but i think he was on stock tires (at least not any kind of tire for drag racing).
it just goes to show...........the car's biggest weakness is getting traction at the launch, and not bogging down. solve those problems, and you've got yourself a pretty handy competitor. isn't that right, bluebeast?

Some SRT4 tried messing around with me last night, he had a BOV and exhaust as far as I could tell. I didn't end up racing him, and it's a good thing cause there was a cop in the next block of traffic ahead of us.
OP - these guys really have it on the button... a lot of it really is suspension and skill... then the power is the obvious bonus and get some really nice times to get with the skittles...

I say skill plays a major part even more than how it's set up. You can have the best setup in the world, but launching those FWD cars can be trickey. I raced a buddy with his SRT when he first got it and in a 1/4 mile I would have killed him. Three months of good practice like every day and he was at my door with just a good launch. If we went any farther he would have blew past. If the guy knows how to drive the car it can play a huge roll in the race.
I was curious about this exact same question this morning. I knew SRT4's were easy to make fast but I didn't know exactly what needed to be done in order for them to break into the 12's.
