Junk in the Trunk??
Hey guys I am in the process of getting ready for track day (Sunday). I have been working frantically trying to get some drag radials by then to no avail. I am currently running a 275 tire out back with about 40% tread. I was wondering if filling my gas tank and leaving my stereo in the rear will help with my 60ft times. I took everything out last time and ran with a little over 1/4 tank and had a pathetic 2.7 60ft time. That was on stock gears and now I'm running 4.10's
Thank you!

Actually what matters more is your driving experience at the track. I know that n00bs at the track could cut a 2.5 60' with a slick and experienced guys that can cut 1.8x with street tires.
This will only be my second time to a "track" where I race is actually just a airport they shut down for one day and run 1/8 mi drags. So its pretty dang close to launching on the street.
The closest track to me is over 3 hours away

Don't expect more than a 2.x then to be honest. If you do better than that then pat yourself on the back, but don't go out looking to cut nasty 60' times.
Weight of the front helps more than weight off the back, but any weight helps at all. Something you can think about doing is unbolting your front swaybar on one side before you run.

Thanks for the input!! Does it matter what side I disconnect? Also what PSI should I run in my tires? Also any launch techniques would be much appreciated!! I plan on just feathering out of the clutch then short shifting into second and powershifting into 3rd.

Either side it doesn't matter. What you're doing is disconnecting a side and allowing the springs to extend without the sway bar restricting it. Tire pressure should remain @ 32 psi in the rears and raise the tire pressure as much as possible in the fronts. Try rolling out on the clutch and if the track will hold it then dump it. Powershift 2nd and short shift 3rd.
