6vs stock S197
I've personally ran 14s w/ my car bone stock when I first start going to the track, but w/ some practice and real cool temps I ran the below time
bone stock.I have a jlt/tuner coming though the mail soon (used) but I'll let you know what I can get from it.
I still give the edge to the new edge w/ a cam set up.
Ive seen it too but that wasnt stock. I dont know where you people live at that see mid 13 sec stock s197s but the best i got with cai/ tune/ long tubes/ x-pipe was 13.6 @ 106. With tires and that same setup I ran a 13.4 @ 105. Same setup with 4.10s, TB, charge motion delete plates with a little better air temp I ran a 13.08. Maybe I cant drive worth a **** IDK but Id say the OP has the advantage.
I saw johnnyV8 run a 13.5 last fall at Atco and I think he said it was only his second or third time at the drag strip in the car. Low 13s shouldn't be a problem for a S197 at a see level track like Atco or Englishtown.

If I were to run 4:10's, with my stated mods, will it make much of a difference? Just say I ran 13.25 with 3:73's how much will it knock off my time using 4:10's?
I haven't seen any faster than a 13.8 stock. Not saying they can't do it, or that it hasn't happened, I just haven't seen it done. I've seen 13 flat with shorties, exhaust, ORH, tune, CAI, 4.10s, and DRs. I live at about 300ft above sea level fwiw. Could be the drivers, especially considering I hardly ever see the same cars twice at the track. Takes practice I guess.
Highly doubtful! He's got similar mods to me and I put down 261RWHP & 301RWTQ! When comparing to the S197 that would put him at the same horsepower, a big advantage in torque, and quite a bit of a difference in weight. I think it's an easy win. Also, although they have the same gears, Soldiers gear gives him a slight advantage since he has less weight to move. The S197 would require 3.90's to equal what 3.73's would do to a new edge.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not ragging on S197's, but with his bolt on's it's not even a competition. Sure they are superior stock to stock, but it doesn't take many bolt ons to catch and pass one, and as always driver makes all the difference in the world!
SoldierGT as for your question about the flywheel, you'll notice no difference on the launch, and a tremendous difference from a roll! If you do plan on going with one, make sure to mate it with an aluminum driveshaft! I wish I would've done those two together!
How hard was the cam install? Did you change springs or anything else in the head when you did the cams?

When I had only a conservative CAI/Tune on mine I was putting down 282 RWHP & 299 RWTQ. So keep in mind that depending on what CAI/Tune he has (I hope he has a tune, and not just a CAI) his numbers might be a little higher than you suspect. I think like someone else mentioned, 261 RWHP is closer to S197 stock numbers.
