On my way back from my old house to my new house (i just moved) i ran across a wrx and a new altima 3.5 driving "fast" together. not sure what they were doing, as when i caught up the altima was ahead of the wrx, so maybe they were both just driving fast and not racing lol.

anyway, got up next to the wrx, sat there for a little bit. dropped it into 3rd from about 65-70 and by the time i was at 105-115 i had a few cars on him. then we both got to a red light. we both hit it. i spun, but i think he took off late (cause i was ahead, and if i spin against an AWD car i shouldnt be ahead lol). just a quick 1-2 and was ahead.

now the bittersweet part. as i was getting on it again, mid 2nd gear. BOOM.

ANOTHER T5 trans bites the dust. i think that is my 5th or 6th one, ive stopped counting.

the good news is, im going to be forcing a 3650 in there thanks to a custom made adapter plate which allows me to put any mod motor trans in my 4.0.

oh and another thing, a girl which im sure was his GF, was in the passenger seat.

i wonder if he thinks he got beat by a gt? i hope not lol.


EDIT: after we got on the freeway, i put it in 4th (its the only gear i could find that wasnt making the car jerk violently) and he pulled up next to me and hit the blow off a few times. i didnt go obviously. he slowed down and i told him i just lost 2nd gear so i cant. he says "well im leaking 5 pounds of boost". thats when i said "well im only making 8 right now". the girl laughed and they drove off.

i tried that once, and blew a gforce t5 trans lol.

thats why im going with the 3650.

im pretty sure my prob with the t5 is that ive actually distorted the case from all the torque. so rebuilding it time and time again, even with stronger internals wasnt solving the problem.

On my weakest tune 359/399 and strongest tune is 454/515

 

Not bad at all. What all did you do to the motor? Man that's pretty close to boosted GT numbers isn't it?

 

motor is stock. havent so much as removed a valve cover. over 60k miles on it too.

and ya pretty close to what s/c gt's run. gotta love turbos

 

Nice, I wouldn't have figured the stock 4.0 would be able to hold that power. I learn something new everyday. Yeah, turbos are the ****!
