I decided to poke along at 45/50 in 5th and wait for him. It didn't take long. His pretty amber vette came flying up at around 80. When he got withing 3 lengths the Mach was put into second and our fenders ended up even for maybe 50 feet and then the same result. Never had so much fun with a boss before. He never knew the power of a Mach before. Damn it felt good.

I take it to mean he downshifted as the vette came up from behind and then the Vette paced him. He dosen't say that he accelerated in 2nd and stopped the Vette's pull.

X2. Not being a dick but i dont see a Mach beating a C6 from a roll race. Roll racing from that speed is what the C6 loves, and a N/A 281 would have a lot of trouble with it.

He said the Vette was doing about 80mph and was about three car lengths back...He was doing 50mph and dropped it down to second, so he DID accelerate to have both cars fender to fender, then states it was the same result.....I love Machs too, but this encounter does'nt add up with bolt-ons...
if the vette is a auto and the driver just mashed the gas, the time for the tranny to down shift could be the answer
remember guys.... on the street anything can happen!
The guy mentioned a 06 Corvette, the 2006 has the six speed auto and has 0 lag time on downshifts....Even if the model was a 2005 with the A4, the Vette was already doing 80mph, That would leave me to believe he was on it (in 3rd gear) and no further downshifts would be needed.....So thats out of the equasion....
