remember a termi weighs a few hundred more pounds.

a gt with slicks, heads/cams, gears, suspension, exhaust could hit mid 12s, but id say high 12s is more realistic.

I still see a low 13 second car. If anyone has this set-up and can post up some slips please post them up. Fazm the OP didn't mention slicks or suspension. I still think it will take more than heads and a cam to run in the 12's. Hell most supercharged GTs with 450+ HP are only running low 12s. Americanspeed is 12 flat right now with a wipple. If you throw slicks and suspension into the equasion. The mid 13 second SRT-4 I mentioned becomes a 12.9 to 13.3 car.

I call BS on the cams on the DOHC. Maybe 96-98 cams in a 99-01 set of heads. HOWEVER, top 12's isn't out of the question with a perfect run. Running the car on the street though, I'd venture to say he's bottom 13's with a 13.0 being a possibility. I went 13.50 with my 2v motor on street tires with cams and bolt-ons.

ive personally seen a gt with a 4.6 DOHC with heads/cams, higher compression with pump gas + torco running 12s n/a. that was on street tires with horrible horrible traction.

his car also put down nearly 360 or 380rwhp, i forget which.

same engine builder that built this 4.6 DOHC (which put over 400rwhp on race gas n/a)

now would i think the guy he is racing has a setup like that? probably not. im just saying its very possible to go mid 12s, without even slicks if you wanted with a 4.6 dohc, it just takes money and a purpose built motor.

IF you don't race him from a dig its not even really a race. racing from a roll makes all his torque less valuable. If you feel you cant get traction i suggest you learn to drive your car.

I seriousally doubt the OP is refering to a purpose built motor in a purpose built car. Lets hope the guy that has that car you mention is hunting for bigger fish than a lightly modded Neon. We're all aware enough money can make anything fast. Even sad V6 stangs & anemic 4 banger neons.

well the car in the picture doesnt get drag raced lol. its a show car thats trailor'ed everywhere it goes. except he drove it to my shop, which i thought was a gutsy move lol.

the gt however, did drive to the track, and drove home.

but ya, definately doubt the gt he is referring to is anything like those motors.

I guess people do not realize a set of cams for a 4v will still run you upwards of 600 dollars for the bumpsticks only...

FYI, stock Mach/Terminator cams will idle rough and you might think that they're cammed.

You try putting 300WTQ to 215 series tires and see what happens. Driving mod has nothing to do with it.

Thanks for all the responses.

It seems nobody around town has an answer about this kids car. I know for a fact he changed the heads on a 2V. It's not a motor swap. As for cams, IDK. I've heard it idle and I can't HEAR cams, but you never know.

I did have a chance last night to do a quick burst in 3rd from 50-70mph and it looks like I'll pull him on the top-end. He wouldn't stop to line them up...............

I've just never heard of people doing a head swap on a 2V to a 4V.
