Dunno much about this Mercedes vehicle, this is the first time I had even seen one. Held one off by 1/2-3/4 car length from 60-95 on the interstate before I decided to let off. Plus the rev limiter in the bird would have been coming up pretty soon anyways. From what I was able to gather on the web the SLK230 has similar numbers to my stock T-Bird, just much lighter. He was kinda dancing around behind me for a few miles, crept up next to me, held there for a few and then he popped the gas and I followed suit. He got maybe a fender out in front of me and I reeled him in from there and held pretty even with a slight lead until I let off. Does this sound right to you guys or was he just screwing around with me? Seems like a smaller lighter car like that with similar power numbers should have been able to edge me out.

 

supercharged 4 banger I beleive.... on par in straight line speed with a V6 S197 I think

a pulley swap can make them a drivers race with a new edge GT though

 

Thats good to hear.. my stock 4.6 bird is about on par with the s197 V6 cars. 205hp/280ftlbs compared to 210hp/240ftlbs. Though my car weighs a bit more, should be about even with a good driver. At the time I wasn't sure what it's deal was, but it's more or less a supercharged 4 banger. Not bad performance wise for what it is, but I would much rather have a Cobalt SS/SC or SRT-4 for the money. Then again, he was driving a benz, so he prob gets more chicks haha.
