No matter what you choose for that day, including 8AM-3PM, this is an impressive time from an experienced driver.

I guess we are going to have to be quiet now about how "slow" those "fat pigs" are eh?

Pretty impressive times! He would have crushed the only SRT8 Challenger i've seen at my track- all day 14.0s at 99-100 mph.

 

I've only seen one RT (5.7L) @ the track, & it ran 13.9 @101 w/ I think a 2.0 60ft.

 

This goes to show you just how important the driver is. This guy has a lot of experience and you can see it in his times. He is able to squeeze every bit out of that car that it has to give.

The R/T is no slouch when competently driven. I think this pretty much puts that to bed. Logic would dictate the same goes for the SRT8. With this guy driving it who knows? 12.5? Maybe.

 

Hell, this guy is 7-8 tenths below the norm...he'd be able to put a srt-8 into the low 12's or something..

That's probably fair to say. However, if we are going to characterize it like that then it would be pretty much just as fair to say the same things about sub 13.3 second stock s197 runs as well. Not exactly a common, easy to reproduce time.

 

Look at that 60 ft time.... 1.942x. Alllright.

 

It's an auto with no stall. All he did was gun it from a dead idle. That takes no experience. Definitely a factory fluke. I could see if he had N20 a stall and a trans brake w/DR's...that would take some experience.

I'm not taking away anything from him or his time...just saying...there's no way a good driver in an auto (stock auto at that) can make up for 7 tenths. On the track that's 7 car lengths. In a manual...yes, good driver mod is big. In an auto...not so much.

 

Fluke or not, if he did it, it's the benchmark. If you are stock, you should be worried. Seriously though, anyone who is into drag racing the 1/4 is most likely not stock for long.
