Default Been a while... figured i would update

Well i have not been on as much recently due to family problems and my car...

Rewind the clock back to the end of july i was out dicking around in the car and went to shift into third gear and to my surprise there was no third gear. So i pulled over to check if i blew a hole in the case, i didn't. Although on the ride home there was metal slushing around in there so i knew it was bad. Anywho i got the car home yanked the motor and trans to find this.

So i was stuck with a real hard decision to fork out the money or part the car out and sell or buy the new trans and keep running. Well my dad has been off work since the early march becuase he had brain surgery and has been unable to return. So i had to swallow my pride and part it out to help with bills around the house. So the car is now back to stock and im just finishing up welding the exhuast and its already to be sold. Makes me sad but i had to due what was right for my family. Im going to miss the car though and the fun i had with it.

A few days before it blew

When i first got it

A little speedo action with the finished product still wasnt fast though

Sorry you had to let her go, Whine. I had fun watching (With much anticipation!) the threads on the build and it sounds like you at least had fun doing it...Good luck with the future, I'm sure you'll be back

Once something like that happens, you either get out of it, or you go with a bigger and badder setup. I know the situation your in. I decided to go bigger and badder with my setup. Sounds like you will too. Good luck.

Yeah, I hear you on the timing thing. My cars been out for a year and a half. It's just now comming together. I'm waiting on the builder, but it shouldn't be to long now. I still got to get some things I need, but once I put the motor in, I'll be happy. Were you getting on it when it went?

Yep short shifted to third around 5 k and it was just butter. There was nothing in the gear and i heard metal clanking. Apparently gm made a trans not designed to handle that much power. I was considering getting it cryo'd but at this point in time i thought it would probably blow again and my fam could use the money more.

Haha, I wouldn't blame it on the power. Trannys just go sometimes. Sucks though. What was the repair cost?

You made the right decision. Family comes first, you can always build a fast car. Chin up son!
