hey, watever. I own a probe, I have a turbo kit I never put on it, so no I dont think V8s are the only way to make power. You can make power in any car, the bigger the displacement the easier the power is made. The beauty of a bigger engine is the useful power range especially being turboed. S2k torque is a joke, thats why I dont care much about 4 bangers making power. wrx and evo i dont mind, but they are still not the type of car I like I have driven both and even though they are quick they dont put a smile on my face the way mustangs do. I like raw muscle, raw torque, sexy exaust sound. Anyways, not bashing your love for imports; I just dont like them

You can make a 200hp car last a minute or a lifetime, its all in the tune. Although the word "tune" to most of you sheep means "wire up dat der gizmo thingy".
LOL, thanks. I'm not worked up, just pointing something out. I don't think we have to many "simpletons" here, as I've gotton almost nothing but respect here for my ride even though I've drank bottles of soda with more displacement than my motor, but most know I can make good power with it. I think that most people here are pretty cool and knowlegeable, a lot probably more than me. Then there's people who aren't, who then try to tell me something I know to be inaccurate. His post had fail all over it, and then wanted me to prove it, so I obliged. I know that I don't know it all, but when I know somethings wrong, I'll point it out.

That's fine. I'm not telling you not to like V8s or whatever size motor, all I was trying to tell you was that you could still boost the S2Ks high compression motor and make some good power.

Your right, power is made easier with a big displacement motor. Ok, we get that the S2k has low torque. Will it give you the kick in the *** that a v8 will, no, it won't. Doesn't mean it can't be made fast though. I don't see how you can compare not liking 4 bangers powers just because of the S2ks torque. There are other 4 cylinders that make good torque, like the SRT-4 and the STI, both of which make good torque for what they are, especially the subies boxer motor.

As I said, you like what you like and that's cool.

Another wonderfully enlightening & insightful post.

You want raw muscle and Torque come take a ride in my 4 banger. Close to 500 at the crank with 450 pounds of torque in a 2900 pound package will either put a smile on your face or a mess in your pants.

I haven't seen it and won't believe it until I do. A front drive GM outduelling a RWD top flight Honda. Wow, I'm dissapointed just thinking about it. I'm one of the few that despise the Cobalt I guess. The sounds they evoke make my ***** itch...I will check it out thanks Blue.

The funny thing is the fact that its true. The Cobalt SS/TC is faster in a straight line and outhandles the S2k. Not only the S2K but I think in that article it was the S2K Club Racer which is superior to your average S2k.

They slalom'd like 71+ MPH and pull like .9X Lateral G's. The car gives great performance for the money. Also they have been in 12's with minor mods, tires and a tune.

I'm too old to ever accept a high HP FWD car has good handling characteristics. Straight line, track or otherwise I KNOW I wouldn't be happy in a Cobalt. That's just me and I certainly don't think I know more than anyone but I wouldn't own one. An S2K would be more than welcome in my garage however...

I would definitely love an S2k also. I am just saying that the Cobalt does actually outperform it. That doesn't necessarily mean you would be more happy in it. I know that my next daily driver will most likely be a Miata when I can afford a better DD. Is it fast? No. But it handles well and it will be a fun car to have everyday and through the New England winters.
