Yeah, I'd get the GTO if I was you. I'm sure you won't be unhappy with all the new fangled gadgets it has, LOL. Having a strong motor doesn't hurt either. The GTO looks good to me, just with they would have made it look just a little more agressive.

Most definitely get the Goat. Thats an amazing deal, and a big step up, even though I do like third gen maro's, the performance difference will be very big

i should also mention that the GTO is a 6-speed car too
So you are going to trade it in for eight bills??? Just keep it. If you need $800 that bad I wouldn't recommend spending almost 20k out the door on a pleasure car.

about 6 months before i bought my mustang i was looking at a used 05 GTO LS2 w/ 6spd, but because it was used and i was only 22 and very limited credit history i couldnt get a loan for it even though they only wanted $22,500 for it (yet the ford dealership got me approved for a near $25,000 loan on my 2007 GT)....it had about 6500 miles on it...it was an AWESOME car....if i had the chance to get one i would definitely go for it....and the other poster was right about the weak link in the drive train being the rear ends....GM decided to go cheap on that part for some odd reason....anyways i say go for and just keep the Camaro...

Sounds like a good deal to me. I wouldn't bother trading the car in though. $800 isn't much when you are spending $17+.

it's going to be my DD/racecar (put slicks on it for auto-x). and right now, the RS isn't really working out too well for reliability

Still why get rid of the Maro for $800???? Again if you need that money that bad don't buy a pleasure car as a DD. You can get a brand new Focus for $10k without the huge monthly payment.
