TBSS Potential
What does the track potential and modding potential look like for the TrailBlazer SS? I'm wondering because my wife went to test drive an 07 Tbss today. She is talking about trading her Jeep GC and Miata in on it. I only know that they are 14.0+ SUVs with an LS2 and 4.10 gears stock. Any of you characters have any experience or run ins with one? I would assume they make RWHP and RWTQ just like any other LS2, but how much does their weight and aerodynamics play into it. Any info is appreciated, trying to learn all I can about this SUV.
I've never seen any at the track other than youtube vids.

I've always heard they could be made into monsters with a little bit of work. Im sure, obviously, they're inferior to the srt-jeep, which Im absolutely in love with, but they're still a quick suv.
So, did the wife want the truck for the performance, or did she just want something new/different and you slid in the suggestion of the tbss?

Apparently tbss owners have inferior complex problems when it comes to mustangs
LOL, they actually make an intake for these trucks named "ieatsrt8". haha. That particular thread was confusing to me. Most claimed spanking s197's while that one guy said that "those older models get me everytime" (said 2000 model, new edge I guess he's meaning)
I tried looking up some info for you, but thats as far as I got, maybe its a starting point for SOME good info, maybe

Lol, yea man, I may have had a little to do with the Tbss test drive! I can't help it man, I figured if she wants another SUV, it might as well be able to do something other than suck gas. Although after driving it, she couldn't stop talking about how good it handled, or how awesome the brakes and steering was. Her only real complaint was that it has some blind spots. I wish I could get her into modding and put her on the track too. I think if she ever made that first pass on the track, she'd be hooked.
-Thanks for the responses so far guys.
Don't even get me started on the SRT Jeep. I'm pretty much obsessed with them myself. I just can't handle that 15 mpg hwy. And they seem to be holding their value more so than the Tbss. The Tbss she drove is only $19k with about 26k miles, loaded, navi, dvd, heated seats, etc. We looked at two SRT Jeeps Sunday and they were still over 30k being a year old.

Though, MPG be damned... I'd grab the SRT8 Jeep
19k?!?!?!?!?! Lord have mercy, I could be owning one right now!!!!! I paid 17k for my ram, but after trading in my little frontier that Id only had for 2 months, it all rolled into a 21k buy, which still wasnt bad since the kbb was right around that. But man, that was a kick in the nuts right there.
Im really really hoping this gas situation stays the way it is. Truck prices will start to rise again, so I could trade mine in for a stang without completely screwing myself, and still afford to drive that gashog-of-a-ford p/u daily. I love my ram, its one of my dream rides, to have a new big ol truck, but I really have a problem with not having a toy.

Thats what I've been reading too Subtext. Sounds like the usual bolt ons, tune, and stall deal. I'm surprised to hear you say to put a regular I6 TrailBlazer stall in though. Whats the deal with that?
97TplsGT, it does seem like a pretty good deal. I think this is a good time to find a deal on just about anything to tell ya the truth, but a bad time to trade in any trucks/SUVs. I've had the Grand Cherokee for around 2 years and the value has dropped like a SOB on it. Its a loaded 2004 awd/4.0 liter, special edition with 57k miles (it had 24k when i bought it) and now the KBB trade in is only $8025. I paid 16k for it! But hey, at least gas is coming down, so that helps a lot. Its $1.32 at some stations around here.
