Default Another race lined up.

Looks like I have another race lined up if I can ever get my damn car done. I've had to stop the build in order to buy more guns because of the current election, but I'm only gonna buy 1 or 2 more that I really want for now, and then start back on the build. I figured it's winter so there's really no big rush now.

I was outside my work smoking and BSIng with another co-worker and we were talking about the weather and I was saying that the Z sucks in the snow and that my teg was a little better. He told me he liked my teg and thought I should have kept it. I guess he thought I got rid of it since I don't drive it anymore. I told him I still got it and that I'm building the motor. He told me I should "put a blower on it", I told him I was building and going turbo. Then he tells me "I don't understand why you guys put 30k into those rice burners". For a second I was like what the hell, didn't you just tell me to put a blower on it?

Anyhow, I told him I haven't spent any where near 30k and it was goona be pretty quick for what it is. He then told me "well it doesn't matter, you can't beat a stock LS1, why bother". That started it. Oh really, I reply. I told him that I would murder a stock LS1 and give some modified ones a run for thier money. "There's no way it would beat a stock LS1 'vette". I told him to bring his 'vette and we'd run. I'm assuming it's all stock, hell I didn't even know he had one. One of us is gonna be very suprised, I'm thinking it's him, but you never know.

So, the races I have lined up are 1 modified SRT-4, 1 Camaro Z28 and now this LS1 vette, that is if I can ever get this damned thing done. Ought to be a good spring/summer if I can get 'r done!!

It's not that hard to edge out a STOCK LS1 ..especially from a roll, haha. If you reach your power goal and factoring in your weight it will take a bit to beat (if you can get traction).

built ls/vtecs are no joke man especially turbo'd! my buddy has a CRX si with a built ls/vtec and a 75mm turbo on it. not sure of the brand but hes been building this car in and out for 5 years. on 7lbs of boos he ran an 11.6. hes tuning it for 25lbs. the thing is nasty!

Just don't cut any corners getting it running... there was a guy here locally that was a legend. If he had stuck to his plans he would have created a monster but he got the itch really bad and just HAD to get it done now. Ended up running low 13s because he couldn't wait to get the thing together.

I agree with everyone else...you stay on track with your plans and none of these races will be worth the gas.

+1 on the post above. Stay on track, you dont want to rush it and end up blowing something on your first race.

I hear you guys about not cutting corners. I'm already kinda pissed that I didn't sleeve the block, so I'm gonna be limited to upper 400s lower 500s on high boost, but I think it'll be ok. I'm not cutting anything else now, which is one reason this has taken so damn long.

Good luck with the build Red. That thing is going to be a nasty **** when its finished. I highly doubt any lightly modded LS1s will be giving you too much trouble.

i had a 98 integra and when the motor blew.. i wanted to do so many things to it, but decided to buy a stang.. LS integra's have alot of potential, but LS/VTEC is just crazy specially with turbo.. what turbo do you plan on putting on? good luck on your build..

Yeah, hopefully it'll turn out how I want it. I've got a garret 60-1 .63 AR hotside, with stage 5 wheel.
