Yea, I thought about that after going back and reading over a second time. All that was said is that they did it on 93 octane. I guess everyone from jump starting thinking that meant it was retuned. But the GT500 is tuned for premium fuel from the factory. So yea, all the car had was DR's. Glad someone caught that.

Don't you have anything better to do than naysay?

Look, if the only thing some of you can do to talk down the Super Snake is compare it to the most top notch of North America's sportscars......then that, to me, shows just how badass a ride it is. And for everyone saying this car would suck if it tried to take a turn, you're talking out of your ***. Will it outcorner a Lotus Elise or a ZR1? No. But just because it doesn't outcorner the cream of the curve-carving crop doesn't mean all its good for is going in a straight line. Narrowmindedness ppl.........that's what that is. I'd be willing to bet that the SS would manhandle most of your cars on a road course with a rape factor of 12.5.......so maybe some of you should acquire some perspective.

And for the record, this kind of performance trim Mustang was meant to be what it is.............a super badass ponycar. I don't think anyone meant it to be a Corvette embarrasser, just a Mustang that performs above and beyond what the typical pony car can and will (I've even seen a video of a Shelby engineer saying that much). So for the last time, stop the Shelby vs Corvette pissing match.

^^^ Well put. The S197 can handle extremely well with very few suspension mods done.

It's still no Z06/ZR1 and is unfair to compare it to those super cars.

Looks good. I don't see why something like this always needs to end in an arguement. I see it as something good thing for all American cars?

C'mon now... if there wasn't anything to argue about these forums (ESPECIALLY street and strip) would die.

You just have to know when to quit and when to say "you know what? you're right!".

It's all about gaining information and insight thru arguing or otherwise. Without arguments, you learn nothing.

I didn't begin the comparison to the Corvette, OTHER PEOPLE HERE DID. Then I went and said that it can't compare, because it simply can't. Even the Z06 outperforms it. Don't act like I'm the one comparing, you guys are the ones that started the comparisons. The Z06/ZR1 simply outperforms the SS, in more ways than one.

Just a couple of posts after the OP there is people saying "I would way rather have this than a ZR1" and "That launches harder than a ZR1". By saying those things, it's obvious you are trying to compare the cars. Even the OP compares it to the ZR1.
