Default Stock GMC Syclone vs Modded New Edge ?

Ok my buddy has a 91 Syclone 100% stock. He is talking about bringing it out this weekend maybe Friday or so and let me race a person or 2 in it.

There is a guy with a 02 GT Mods:bbk cai, ported tb, diablo tuner, bbk o/r xpipe, 4.10's, 275/45/17 nitto dr, and it's a 5sp IMO not too bad of a driver. His best time to date is 8.68@81-82 w/ 2.0x 60'.

The other day he was going to race a turbo rsx type-S ONLY from a dig and 1/8 cause apparently that's the only racing we do around (I was not aware of this until then LMAO)
Since this is the case at least with him I know the truck runs great down low and I can footbreak the truck hard enough to where it's at full boost when I launch (feels ****ing great btw) so if this race does actually happen witch I hope it does any takes on the possible outcome?

BTW I'll probably run up to 100 or so.

Stock the Syclone should be good for 13s, how high or low of a 13 I'm not sure. If it's low 13s the stang should watch out. As for the RSX, unless it has a really good suspension or some kind of tire to handle the power I doubt it'll be any good out of the hole, once it van get traction and the turbo spools watch out.

Wikipedia says 13.4 @ 98 MPH for the Syclone... so probably a little faster.

I didn't think a Syclone was that fast. I only seen them go high 13's low 14's.13.40's in 1991 got damn that's fast.

damm, unexpected LOL. Thats a pretty sick time. Seems to have the same top end problem(Arerodynamic=box) that most trucks n suvs have =[.

Sorry I didn't clarify this before. The guy in the mustang was gonna run the RSX, and said the whole thing about we only run from a dig to a 1/8. Besides the RSX is really slow and has no tire. I really only want to run the New Edge from a dig bc "that's his roll... A no roll" So the same concept as ripped camel in the thread Roll Racing Is Lame . With that being said I'll play his game with a dead stop monster.

I'm 100% sure it's 100% stock. The cyclone only has 43,000 miles on it they bought it back in 96 with 28,000 miles on it. Paper filter, no tampering to the internal wastgate, stock dp with stock cat and muffler. By the stock boost gauge witch I think it's off but it says about 14-15 psi and I've read on them and it did say the boost gauge was usually off a few psi.

Any takes on how the race with the New Edge will??

The GT will take it, imo. The Syclones leave really hard being geared low and AWD, but they have top end issues. It should be somewhat close in the 1/8th, but believe it or not, the GT will launch just as hard or harder with those 4.10s and DRs, and the GT will definitely trap higher than the Syclone. If the truck had ANY mods at all, I'd be telling the GT to watch it, but he's stock so...my money is on the New Edge.
