Default Finally got booted from the Track!!!

Went to the track last night, finally had some cool weather, around 58 degrees. I set a new best ET, MPH, and 60' !

Mods: Whipple HO, 10 psi, VMP dynotune, 93 octane, MT ET Streets, rear sway bar, lowering springs, adj LCAs, adj Panhard, panhard brace, tokico D-spec adj shocks & struts, aluminum 1-piece driveshaft, competition stage 5 clutch, lightweight flywheel, STS, K-member brace w/ torque limiters. No weight reduction.

First run of the night, car was still hot with only about 20 minute cool down.

60'=1.617 - new best!
1/8=7.369 @ 95.84
1/4=11.428 @ 120.71

Second Run:

60'=1.676
1/8=7.391 @ 96.82
1/4=11.417 @ 122.08

I was told after the first run to slow down since I had no roll cage, after the second run I got the boot!! Happiest drive home from the track yet! Probably going out friday night as it is supposed to drop to around 45 degrees.

sweet runs... I had a similiar experience at getting the boot in my GTO, I was also told I needed a fire jacket due to the aftermarket turbos....

They also mentioned that I needed a fire jacket as well. I'm seriously thinking about caging her as I go to the track at least once a week. This is my only car but I rarely drive it as I live in walking distance to pretty much everything I need (work, grocery store, gym, etc) and when I do drive I never use the back seat. I've already been talking to my performance shop guy about the cage last night. If I do the cage, I'm going to add some HP, whether it be from a 12 lb pulley and race tune, or possibly a small shot of nitrous (eventually forged block). If I'm going to have a cage, I better be needing it on every run.

our tracks here not let you run w/o a fire jacket if the car is blown

you can get removable door bars and leave them out but for when you venture to the track

If I could get to the track that often I'd likely cage miine, but I'm lucky if I get there 5x a year
