Hey guys got the word last week that I will be going back to the sandbox in Nov. Before I leave I intend on beefing up the suspension and maybe a set of DR's. While I'm gone gonna save up for a S/C (yeah I know I wanted to stay N/A) just wondering with my current set up will my car be able to hit 11's? Can the transmission handle that much torque?
Thanks guys!!!

Hrrmm... kind of a hard one to guess at.. Seems like you have a pretty decent N/A setup, but if you're still running the stock 3650 tranny, it'll be kinda iffy brudda.. The 3650's are VERY hit and miss, some do ok and others are complete crap. I personally had one crap itself on me three times before I upgraded tranny's. Adding DR's and launching hard will definitely shorten the tranny life though, that much is fact. But back to the original question, if I had to guess brudda, depending on how good your driver mod is, I would say 12.3-4, maybe a tenth or so lower if you're good enough on the stick. I would say it's gonna take a bit more power to the wheels to get you into the 11's broham, but I'm not a wizard at these things. You'll just have to run her and see..

how does the launch or the tire affect the tranny? I could understand powershifting or missing gears would hurt it. I could see the launch putting a strain on the clutch, rearend, torque boxes etc, but not the tranny, but maybe I'm wrong.
I have many years of hard launches, on drag radials and slicks, yanking the front tires off the ground and I'm still on my stock tranny (T-45) with 132k miles.

I'm just going from personal experience, as I've had some really sh!ty luck with the 3650's I've had. And maybe it's more to do with my driver mod than anything else, but for me, DR's plus hard launches on the track killed 3 different 3650's one of which was rebuilt with forged internals. It's honestly been my experience that the T-45 is a stronger tranny than the 3650, but I could also be wrong... Still, in response to your question brudda, anytime you drop gears at high rpms it's hard on the tranny, and if you launch high, the first 300' will definitely do that.. That's just my take on it and I'm certainly not an expert broham..
