Sawzall. The shifter design on S series doesn't rely on a stoper within the shifter, but rater at the transmission case to prevent over-shifting.

So, I hacked off the part of the shaft you can see to almost nothing and put on another shifter, it's now about 2.5~3" tall overall, and a throw of around 2", much better compared to the stock 6" or so, extremely sloppy and the throw of a truck.

For those of you doubting me, it's called the lever law. Imagine holding a 4 foot tall stick up top and the bottom is fixed. Now, by holding it at the top it is extremely easy to move but you can't move it that fast. Now hold it at the 6" line. Much harder to move, but so much faster.

I definitely believeyou, but I was just finding it hard to believe it could be as good as a steeda tri-ax shifter. I thought a real short throw shifter changed the ratio of the movement of the end piece going into the top of the tranny, causing it to not be hard to shift even though its short. Good idea though...

Spinnerbate, it is far from as good as a true short throw. The only ones that are true short throws cast about $150 plus core, they're modified stockers. I'd rather have comparable results for chump change ;-)

the z24 2.4dohc motor has 150hp. my car ran a 15.9 at 86mph with a slipping clutch and 121,??? miles for being stock. theyre not bad of a car. and great gas mileage.
i can get around 26+mpg depending on how i drive it. 26 being the lowest and 30 being the highest.
