Low 12 second Miata?
I have a 2002 Miata that I use as a commuter car, so I look at mods for it from time to time and have considered seeing what I can get out of it. After lots of research, F/I is obiviously the only route to take unless a drop a V8 in it. I found out that I can get 250 rwhp out of it with a MP62 Supercharger and full exhaust, intake, etc. Then I had to figure out what a 2200lb car could do with 250 rwhp. While looking around I found this calculator... http://www.jcalculator.com/?c=1_4_mile_calculator .....it's saying that a 2200 lb car with 250 rwhp should go low 12s!?
Its pretty accurate on the actual ETs, but it was off a good bit on trap speeds when I compared it to some of my previous cars.
What do you guys think about this calculator? Does it seem accurate to you guys?

It looks alright but my question is don't you have a mach, Si and now you want the miata modded, why? Just wondering because I'd think the miata would be more than enough for DDing, or better suited for a track with some curves and turns.
I want to mod everything. I just can't stand driving a car knowing its running a 15+ second 1/4 mile. I like the idea of being prepared to hang with whatever, whenever, no matter what I'm driving. Not only that, but driving a slow car urks the hell out of me. There's nothing worse than driving behind a slow poke and not be able to pass unless you've got 5 miles of straight away. I love the little car, its just too damn slow.
A LOT and I mean a LOT of my friends are into Miatas. My friend Evan was the NASA SpecMiata champion this past year. They're more into curvy tracks than straight lines though so I don't think those guys are putting on a ton of power adders. I have never driven a Miata but supposedly they are insanely fun to drive and responsive. I say throw a turbo on it with low boost, try to drop some weight and call it a day!
About that calculator, maybe its because my car has 4.10s, but for a 259rwhp car with a 3650 race weight, it said my time should be a 14.0x @ 96.8 mph.....lol
When I trial'n'error to get a close ET, the trap speed is still off by quite a bit...and that's with adding about 33rwhp or so.
That is a fun thing to play with though.
And for the Miata, do et. What would need to be upgraded in the entire drivetrain?
