Default Beat an STI

Well i was on the way back from ft worth, and a silver STI comes hailin *** behind me. He got next to me, and we did a 70 punch. I pulled on him about a car, then I guess his turbo finally spooled, an he stayed there, not really droppin back anymore until 110 when we got off. Well he got next to me agian, and we punched it from 50. Same thing, I pulled on him about a car, then he didnt go back anymore until about 120. I got off at 125, and we slowed back down. I know the only reason I got him was because he was AWD, but heyt, i beat an STI. I was proud of my GT lol. Even though from a stop he would smash on me. I put some Welds, an some M/T Street drag radials on the back. They hook up nice.

Are you sure it was an STi? Even from a roll I should think that it would've beaten you given the fact that you have a basically stock car.

My buddy has an STi. It really depends on the speed at which you start. We started at about 55 and I was able to pull on him for a bit then he caught up and ran with me. The problem is the gear he was in. 2nd was to close to the redline (1000rpm) and 3rd was to short to get a good launch. At that time I only had midpipe and catback.

It's possible I've done it. Won't happen now that he is modded more, but I still run at his back bumper to within 6ft from a roll over 60.

Ofcourse i know it was an STI. thats the only cars I used to be into. Imports. Plus i know the guy. Its a silver STI with black wheels. Comeon now... doesnt take much to tell the difference between an STI and a WRX

Thats odd. My wife also said she held one at her rear bumper from about 60 to 100. I thought maybe she just had it confused with a regular WRX? But she said it had the big lunch box handle wing in the back. She also pointed out STI's at a local dealership saying "Identical to those right there". Who knows?

*starts to pour fuel all over the place*

I'm going to go ahead and say you beat the driver, not necessarily the car.

*waits for someone to light a match*

good kill none the less.

I am not going to say that it wasnt an STI - but having just come from that side i know that a ton of STi drivers swap trunkj with regular WRX's to get rid of the boy ricer wing. I have seen many idiots in WRX's with STI wings and badges. Stock gt to stock STi really shouldnt be much of a race, unless the guy just couldnt drive....
