Default TC or Slicks

i was just thinking if a TC would have any effect on my ET's right now... I'm pulling 1.5-1.6 60' launching at the stock 2k rpms. I was having some traction problems at the line this past weekend and i think it's cause my tires are from 06. I talked to the M/H guy who was at the track and he told me i should probably get some new rubber first. I'm going to follow his advice and go with some new m/h's but after i do so, i'm thinking of finally swapping the stock converter for a 3200 PI converter. Do you guys think it will make a difference in my 60' times as well as my 1/4 mile times? if so how many tenths?

for a second I thought you meant Traction Control, but no, a Torque Converter will do alot for you. When I bought my car it had a Performance Industries Torque converter, and that thing was awesome.

I'd say go for it. You won't get much use out of the slicks without a higher launch RPM.

Mike-

I think with a good TC you could get consistent 1.4x 60's and that would probably cut your ET by .2-.4

get a TC, if your already cutting 1.5's you not going to lose ET, launching at a higher RPM. a 32-3800 stall would be fine for street just make sure you get a trans cooler to keep the trans a optimal operating temperature.

I'm talking to PI and hopefully I can work out a deal for the 3200 stall. I'm getting a good deal on some new dr's then ill def be going with the TC. Only thing I'm thinking is maybe I should go with a wider
A wider dr instead of the one I'm using.

275/50/17 on a 17x8 stock rim. I was having traction problems this past weekend after the 1.56 60' with a few 1.8's a 1.99 pass.

I would be more concerned with the compound. A real slick will be a little softer. I'm going to try bias plys from MT to see how they work.

I'm thinking maybe getting a pair of 17x10's for the rear and going with a 325 m/h
