13 flat stock is a bit generous, more like 13.5 at 102-3 mph with good driver. They're a lot harder to launch then people think. You can't just rev the **** out of them and dump the clutch and expect a good launch. Definitely one of my favorites cars though.

Good run OP. You got a sick ride.

Really? I assumed that since it had AWD all you had to do was not spin out like crazy to get a good launch.

They'll drop out of their powerband if you dump it to fast. It'll spin some, but then it'll regain traction and bog. You got rev it to whatever the best RPM is for those cars, then come off the clutch smoothly, but quickly, keeping the RPM up. Its pretty easy to screw up.

For sure. You dump the clutch on them and they wheel hop like a ****, you gotta be able to drive one.

Not only do you have to know how to launch it but you need to have the guts to do it. Those high rpm launches can really do a number on your clutch.

x2... and the clutch doesn't like it much when people do launch like that...I know a kid that was running low 13s with his stock...put in 2 or 3 new clutches and ended up doing a trans rebuild in the 2 years he had the thing. I just turned 105,000miles and still have the original clutch.. couldn't imagine going through them that quick.

Eagle, What engine compression are you running? I'm assuming it is stroked to a 298?

An .011 over, 301 1/4" so basically a 302. I'm running a 9 1/4:1 compression, so a lower than stock compression and blower style cams, not bad IMO.
