First Kill in the Vette.....
Not a mustang story but I figured I would share.. lol.. I had not had ANYONE even attempt to throw a rev at me so far while out driving this thing.. Finally at a stop light this morning an S2000 kept revving at me. I decide, What the hell, I'll wake anyone still asleep for half a mile in any direction... So I throw him a 4500rpm rev to let him know I'll go.
This in itself was kind of funny.. the difference in volume between a very stock exhaust sounding s2k (that I probably wouldn't have heard with my windows up..) and a non muffled early gen 350 is huge...
Anyways, light goes green I spin a LOT and he pulls off the line. By the end of first (which takes me nearly to 40mph in this car) I am about a length ahead, and by the time I hit 60 I had put 2 lengths on him. Let off at 65 and slowed back down to 60.
He drove past and gave a thumbs up afterwords.
Been a while since I've had a race of any type. It felt good to really open this car up against someone else for the first time.

Crate 350 (iron heads & block), edelbrock performer RPM intake, edelbrock performer carb, chambered longtube headers, electric fan, 17" wheels with sumo drag radials on all 4 corners, and some other little things. Runs great, but I have no idea what she would pull in the 1/4... I would guess low - mid 13's.
Thanks everyone! I dont drive it very often so I dont get all that many opportunity's to run.
1974.. I had a 1973 Firebird originally purchased by my uncle in 1973 and given to my grandmother who drove it till 1993 at which point it was given to me with 36,000 miles on it. Considered restoring it but the Louisiana weather had rusted out just about everything on the car. Sold it soon after. 73/4' was the year they started choking the muscle cars but always loved the old stingrays and vettes from that era. I also owned a 69' camaro w/ 4-bolt main 350, 2.02 head and muncie "rock crusher" 4-speed. Loved that car but eventually wrecked it.
