Dan,
Sweet #'s. Now get that power to the ground. I would have to recommend a straight axle. There are 2 guys here, onw w/ IRS & one w/ straight axle and they both have the exact same mods and the guy in the straight axle hooks much harder. in short...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and more $$$$$$.
Have fun
As I said a few days ago, a stick axle is not nessicarry. There were 5 guys running low low 11s on IRS and no motor work (one guy ran a high 10 and still had the stock EATON!)

BTW Jdaniel, its time to SPRAY it.

LOL I want to do a straight axle but there are cars running 9's on the IRS. So I really dont think its necessary. If I ever break a half shaft then I will definetly do the swap.

What would be the point? It's time for him to stop wasting money on other things, and get a suspension under it. Or you're going to be just like all the single turbo Supra's at the track. Eleventybillion Horsepower and a mid 12 time slip.

Theres nothing fun about having a dyno queen.

This might be very true but you need to look at the big picture. How is the rest of the car set up? Are they light weights, what tire are they on etc. I bet those 9 sec cars could be 3 or 4 tenths faster on a solid rear, I want to know what their 60' times are. Your car does put down a ton of power I must admit.

I have an 8.8 rear end thats ready to install when ever I want to do it... I just have to get the 33 spline axles and the carrier. I was just gonna see how far I can go on the IRS before it breaks.

The main point would be to keep it cooler, the spray will lower his intake charge tremendously allowing him to crank up the boost. However, I also agree with setting up the right suspension. It's a moot point about solid vs. IRS. You can spend a ton of money on a solid, and you can spend an even bigger amount on beefing up the IRS to take the power. At the very least he should drop in the level 5 drive shafts when he breaks the stock halfs. Putting in a solid just takes the fun out of daily driving around curvy roads, so that preference is up to the driver.

Congrats on the numbers JD! How much boost you pushing now? Just curious.

You're missing the point. I wouldn't be concerned about breaking the IRS, he can't hook the car up. It just doesn't work the way it sits.
