First time track with the 2v
Just recently got a 1999 gt bone stock even stock intake 5spd and took it to the track yetserday night...went along with a coworker (1999 civic si)and his friend (2007 350z.) Me and th civic had a lil bet going that he couldnt do better then a 15.5....i won that bet pretty easily.. and the 350z went pretty fast for his first time... he did back to back 2.1 60ft on street tires cutting a 14.1 then a 13.8...which impressed me alot..
As for the 2v i had made a post earlier about what were good 60ft for street tires well my best was a 2.2
1st run 2.3 60ft 14.6 1/4 97mph
2nd run 2.2 60ft 14.3 1/4 98 mph
3rd run 2.6 60ft 15.3 1/4 97 mph got a little more aggressive on the launch but just didnt stick. but still won the race ; )
all in all i was very pleased to see a 14.3 out of it bone stock and on some 245 street tires..

yes on the modding....been just wanting to cut the s**t and getting a vortech right of the bat.... i taking the mistakes i learned of the v6 and going forst induction right from the beginning.....Screw bolt ons...lol
You may wanna get some sticky tires before anything else. Although I was getting 2.0 60 ft times on the stock 245 tires my car came with, so maybe with some practing with both launching and staging you might be able to knock off a coupla tenths that way.
I hear ya man. Nothing wrong with going ahead and getting the job done right the first time. I mean, don't get me wrong, 4.10s, cams, and some exhaust would set that car right, but I think I know where you stand with this, and running a 12.8-13 flat just isn't going to satisfy you.... am I right?
