Default S197 GT vs WS6

We did a first gear roll from about 5-10 mph. I pulled a fender on him instantly (i got the jump.) When i shifted to second my tires broke loose and he pulled a fender. He kept that fender on me all the way till half way through 4th gear i started to pull him in, i was beside him when we had to shut it down.

Kinda weird that i started reeling him in up-top dont ya think? Aren't those LSx motors supposed to be godly up top? Anyway... i need a procharger!

He said that he bought it like that, and was told its stock. All i saw/heard was a dumped exhaust on it, who knows if/what else he had on it...

Well..considering you have 4.10's, Exhaust, Intake, Tune, and some other suspension mods I would hope regardless of how godly they are you would be able to pull a little bit better than even, even on top end. It really is sad it takes that much to run with a 10 year old "mullet" mobile.

He should be running in the 12s with his current mods... Stock WS6s should not be running in the 12s... I'm thinking you breaking traction hurt you quite a bit and you would have put some space between you and him if you wouldn't have lost traction. He probably has more done than he is saying too.

Good run OP. Sounds right to me. Losing traction messed you up.

Depends on what you compare it to. Compared to the top end of a 2V GT, hell ya they're strong up top, but compared to a Mach 1 or your car, they're bout the same give or take.

Honestly, 105mph shouldn't be enough to take down a stock LS1. Should be fairly close with an auto car, but an M6 should walk him. I guess the 4.10's help you get out on them. But they should definately run YOU down, not the other way around. Well driven M6 LS1 cars can trap around 110mph.

EDIT: just read your sig a little better. By dumps, do you mean he had a cutout with a turn down on it?

Couple of you guys make good points. The stang should be a 12 second car with those mods. But at what trap speed? 107? I've seen stock, near stock Trans Ams trap 108 so I'm not real suprised the Ls1 had the top end over the Stang. Nice race OP.

I'm kind of surprised it was that close. A full bolt on S197 with LT's should be putting down 320rwhp or more, couple that with 4.10's and our OP should have put a car or more on him. Considering a stock LS1 dyno's at 300-320rwhp depending on the dyno and wether it is a M6 or A4.

OP ditch that canned tune and get a dyno tune. With a great tune your car could put down over 330rwhp.

OP's car with LT's should trap a couple mph faster then that.

The 3v pulled on the top end, not the LS1.
