Default newer civic si vs my gt

I've seen (and heard...) this guy around town a few times and finially two days ago i was able to line up with him. I smoked him pretty bad, but i heard they weren't that great with only 137 ft*lb of torque... He was probably stock with some sort of exhuast.

i have what is listed in my sig, hahaha

there is a 6.0 GTO and a 5.7 GTO in town that i wouldn't mind racing. I'm pretty sure they are faster but i would like to have a bench mark against one.

good kill, just be careful... a full bolt-on and tuned K series is no joke for a 4 banger. especially against a bolt on only 2V thats probably got a few more miles of wear and tear on the engine. It would probably be a closer race if you roll raced. Of course you'd kill a fwd tourque-less car off the line haha, but those cars are a lighter than ours by a few hundred pounds. V2 intake, Ksport header and Kpro tuning would probably ruin your day...if the kid could drive....

theres a cat around here with a full bolt on K20 swapped 1994 civic hatch. You've never seen 250whp move so fast....

i dont mind losing, i just like to benchmark really. I mean anything can be made to be fast(er) with enough money and time. I just like having good time. oh and i like when people think, "oh, its just a npi mustang, this will be a cake walk" and then I drive away laughing

the guy who did my gears told me having OEM catback is really hurting my top end becuase i have the front completely opened up and then OEM mufflers back into 2.25 inch instead of 2.5 inch... i was a little heasitent mostly becuase i like my nosie level and i'm a little worried about tickets.

is it really as good as he made it out to be. i'm not expecting it to be amazing, but you know... would be be more worth it to weld in mufflers or get a catback?

Catbacks are mostly for sound. They may create a couple or three HP, but thats about it on a stock car. I think that when you factor in LTs and a mid pipe, the catback starts to do more as far as performance, just like your mechanic was saying. You need one IMO.

Good kill on the SI. They are pretty quick for what they are..... in the right hands. I had one for awhile and got to where I could launch it pretty good, but its tough. They usually hover around the 15 second range off the showroom floor and can sometimes pull off a high 13-14.0 with full bolt ons and tuning.

There was a 96 hatch around here with a built engine that made 386hp at 8lbs of boost. He traded it for a 87 Regal Turbo-T

Nice run and I had the same problem when I was doing my exhaust. I had the LTs and a midpipe going to a stock catback. It was definetly hurting my top end and when I switched I gained some horsepower but also lost torque.
