Had a run with an LS2 Goat

great run with the goat. in stock form gto's are fat big pigs that handle very well. it takes alot of track time for a person to get used to the irs with the 6 sp.
now when i do go from a dig, i ride the clutch just enough to get the car rolling and then go full throttle. and when i was stock i found out that the fat pig can be fast and have a excellent takeoff from a dig. i have been doing some free suspension mods to the stock settup. it is still stock but i am having some neoprene parts made and have gotten them on. and the car can take off very well now. i have never been beat by a mustang, but there is always the first time.
as far as the weight goes, on my 04 with me in it and full of gas it weighs just a little under 4000lb, and i weigh 295 pds. i weighed it on our company scales. and the goat gets better when the rpm gets up to 3500 rpm, at that point it is like a freight train pulling. i have 3 major mods, custom exhaust, pacesetter long tube headers, and a full comp cam kit. the rpm now on my lst is 6900 rpm limit due to the stock internals and heads/intake. i could even go higher in the rpm with a forged bottom end. just thought i would share some info about my car with you guy's. and one again congrats in the run.

Nice car Yellow! I have a soft spot for the 04 GTOs since I've had one and everyone gives them sh*t for being the slower of most LS1s (debatable imo). Mine was an automatic. It pulled off some high 13s, 13.8-13.9 at around 102-3 mph stock. Basically, I took it off the track for a couple months and modded it as much as I could afford to before returning to the track. I did the Pacesetter LTs as well (no cats), KN CAI, Dyno Tuned, and a flowmaster catback. It made 340 rwhp/350 rwtq and was running low 13s at 107-8 mph on street tires. I slapped some Nitto DRs on it and dropped it down to a 12.85 at 108 on a 1.85 60'. It really needed a bigger stall, bad. I think it would've run a 12.4 with a good 3800-4k stall. I miss that car.

Getting a car to run 11s would be a lot more about the setup/weight than the power.
Im sure a HCI 4.6 would make more than enough power to run 11s.
With the new trickflow heads and what not 2vs are seeing 350 rwhp N/A
With some weight reduction and good driving, 11s should be easily attainable n/a
But like I was saying, theres a huge differance between a full weight car weighing in @ 3500 lbs with virtually no suspension and a near gutted car with weight reduction mods all around, alum block, riding on drag wheels.
Thats the differance between a car running high 12s and one running 11s

I guess it's possible. The younger D'amore (Jim III) was doing it with his 3V + heads/cams (11.7 et's), around 390whp. Along with 4.30 gears, big and littles, his experienced driving . I think they also removed the spare, passenger seat, and anything else they could easily remove/reinstall for daily driving (this was his DD car).
A look at some of the modular orientated boards will reveal that others are having good results with n/a 3&4 valve cars.
With the Trick Flow 2V heads, it would seem as though some fairly impressive power can be achieved on a stock block.

Lol...whats that mean, the authority?
Yes, I have a good bit of weight reduction.
Ill probably be closer to 3k after a few more weight reduction mods.
