Default First time at the track on the bottle.

Before I start, the track is in Morrison Colorado. Bandimere speedway is the highest elevation track in the US I believe. The elevation is 5880ft above sea level. The DA (density altitude)for my best run was 8150.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIgPh_J3fa8

break down of the time slip.

60' 1.94
330 5.68
1/8 8.79
MPH 78.88
1000' 11.45
ET 13.67
MPH 101.94
this was at 8:18pm at night, DA was still 8150, average is 8400DA so it was pretty good last night.

(13.6@101 corrects to a low/mid 12 second 1/4 mile at 110mph at sea level)

'Vert was on a 100shot, The car ran STRONG last night. felt good. first pass on the bottle was with 8* of timing, and i babyed it out of the hole, which showed in the 2.3 60' when with NO nitrous i cut a 2.0 60'

Here is some video's we shot to compare my car to at this elevation.

2010 Camaro SS
(yes, it's a SS)

Mach 1, slick's and nitrous, unknown other mod's.

So in comparison, my car move's out pretty damn well. That is with STOCK heads, and STOCK cam.

This winter the convertible will receive these.

Also a trick flow stage 2 cam.
Spec's of the trick flow stage 2
Basic Operating RPM Range: 2,500-6,000
Advertised Duration: 286 int./294 exh.
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.542 int./0.563 exh. lift

should put the car in the 12's up at this elevation

thank's for looking!

Damn, that DA SUCKS!!! Excellent runs for the conditions imo. Those NA cars were suffering quite a bit from the da though.

BTW the 2010 Camaro SS was running consistent 15.2's, that 15.0 was his BEST of the night. he ran a few 16.3-16.0's when he first showed up........

Good runs! Sucks that the DA is so bad. Congrats on your TF head/Cams. Those Camaros seem to be slow stock, that or the drivers suck. Am I wrong?

Thank's! i got the head's for $800 they are the "race" o-ringed head that i think go for $1800, and it has some decent amont of port work done to them also! should make good power.

I run 15's off the bottle, and even though i have stock heads and cam, i still weigh less, and im set up more for drag racing.

so no, there not SLOW, but there not as quick as i though they would be. Low 15's up here at this elevation is equal to mid 13's at sealevel.

Good runs man! You decided to go with a cam swap along with the new heads huh? How come you want to go with a OTS cam?

Thank's! Yea i was talking to a buddy and it just seemed dumb to not put in a cam while throwing on the head's as your already "there" pretty much. lol.

off the shelve cam is because i know they work well, dont need anything gnarly, and know the trick flow cam's seem to work great.

also trying to do this a bit on the cheap side

Next time you go on vacation, make it one where you can take that car to run at sea level, maybe see some 11's?

haha, born and raised in Orlando Florida man. even with the high heat and humidity the car would be running mid 12's on a 100shot im sure of it. (track's elevation is like 85ft above sealevel)

12's with no bottle with the head's and cam.

but at high elevation you break **** less often, and you get better gas mileage. lol. I plan on returning to some sane elevation within the next 5-8years i hope.

Nice video. Car should be down right fast with the heads and cam.
