Default Me vs CTS

And yes, it was a V. Heading out of work this afternoon after a nice day of overtime, this all black CTS blows past me, and this thing was loud, not annoying but SICK loud. At first I didn't want to chase then I said WTH and went for it, as I went past him I gave him a thumbs up, after falling back a few cars, he comes back and matches my speed. At around 65, we just easily layed into it, but had to let off due to an 18wheeler cutting him off. Then I put down my window and complimented his exhaust. Afterwards going about 55-60 (3rd gear) he points forward so I honk it. He was pulling slow and steady 'til he was about, I would say 1/2 car ahead, we let off at around 100-110. We gave eachother thumbs up and headed our separate ways. Then about 3 miles down I realized my a/c on, but didn't mind because he probably did too. Those CTS' are VERY nice.

your A/C automatically turns off upon WOT... so it doesn't matter as much as you think

nice race, the upped redline in those 4V's really helps up top

Nice run! You did very well Dark. Those cars are tough, especially from a roll like that where he didn't have to worry about traction. There's no doubt he was modded, imo.

Yes they are. Im not a fan of rolls but when its against a car like that I dont minds, and we couln't really stop in the middle of the highway, not that I've done that.

every modern automotive AC unit nowadays has what is called a "WOT cutout relay"... which shuts it down on WOT

turning off the AC before a race yields the same effects as leaving it on ;-)

I've heard that back in the day, before the WOT relays, that compressors would get spun way to fast under WOT and shorten the life of the compressor, or cause failure right away.

Its possible that the compressor could hurt you for a brief second before it disengages, especially from a dig or while staging at the track.... that is a straight up guess though. I always turn mine off just to make sure as well as the lights, radio, or anything that uses electricity. Nothing to back that up except that I know that generators typically bog under a load... makes sense that a car alternator would do the same?

Sorry to get OT, Dark...

Back on subject.
