Default back to the track...

unsatisfied from the last test and tune ( HUGE puddle of water right before the lanes leading up to the track, ZERO track prep and misty conditions last time, couldn't hook for shat). Looks crystal clear out and going to be a very sunny day!

Been looking forward to seeing how the car does with the NEW bama tune and JBA shorties, looks like today will be the day..

wish me luck!

(-:

Not looking to run anything that spectacular, just to have some fun til next season.. hopefully with a supercharger then!

Not bad at all;

Just got back, ran a few 13.3@102s and 13.4@102s.

I know you all say do NOT burn out with the street tires, but it seems to hook better for me when I do.

The cut outs don't do a lick of difference performance wise, but it is distracting as well as misleading when power braking.. it's hard to tell exactly where I am loosing traction or gripping off the line because of the "BBLLLLAAARRRRRGGG" sound lol. Open or close, I trapped the same and ran the same- so I left it closed. Felt like I got better torque off the line and better throttle surprisingly, feels like the power is more linear rather then feeling empty down low and power up top.

Alot of competition classes were today so I left early, no more T&T except between breaks and at the end of the day.

Overall, with the JBA headers, it was easier to get off the line quicker and get better times because of the slight increase in power. Felt strong and shifted strong w/Brenspeed tune.

Going back tomorow just for kicks, and to get the ET down to 13.2@102 CONSISTENT.

(-:

Not bad for only CAI/tune, 4.10s and Shorties.

I was able to knock out consistent 2.0s .. desperately trying to get it down to 1.8/1.9s but once the converter gets hot, it's hard to predict how much it'll engage or slip.

I seen some SS camaros and an LS1 TA rip out of the hole with 1.8s (street tires?) last time around, they were running 13.7/13.8s stock. It's always interesting to see how much harder they are able to launch compared to my auto.

Going back right now.. last day for the season.

high elevation or DA? I am pretty sure we are at sea level (Palmer, Alaska), those numbers are uncorrect, straight from the timeslips.

Just got back.. IT NEVER FAILS!

I run great times yesterday, hooking off the line with awesome traction, good 60 fts...

today? I could'nt hook a 2.0 60 ft. if my life depended on it. I should have rotated the tires or skipped the burn out completly. My rear tires had a thin layer of VHT or whatever burn out crap they spay in the water box.

My times aren't even worth mentioning. I was peeling out off the line horribly, the torque converter was slipping more then usual and the brakes weren't holding as hard as yesterday. Pretty sure the tires were spent, eventhough I had thread left.. they just felt "slippery" today.

I don't really care if I had bad times, but the launch and 60 fts. were seriouslly killing me today.. last day of the season too! Doh!

There was an 08 GT500 running 12.1@118, an 10 Evo X running 11.9@118, a hand full of scoobies running 12s all day, an 11.9@1?? 03 lightning.

I just didnt want to comment about the LS1 drivers needing lessons before finding out if this was at 5000+ DA and making myself look like an ***.

I am still not sure what the DA numbers all mean, but the track we have is great on competition days. Though with street tires, it's really a hit or miss.

I think my mistake today was that I wasn't burning out long enough compared to yesterday. I tried getting away with just cleaning off the tires but that obviously did not work! Yesterday, at every run I would smoke the tires real well then stage. The tires have a thin layer peeling, making it not grip without a proper burn out.. I didn't have to do it.. now I HAVE to or else it won't grip!

I see alot of other cars flubbing their launches as well so I don't feel so bad. The only ones that were consistent were the ones with full on slicks, line locks for the burn outs or DRs. I see the other people driving around the water box, but it was too late for me.

Getting some DRs ASAP! I know I can run a sollid 12.9 with those on...
