Default me vs SRT-8 Jeep

on my way to the pool hall last night, i was just cruising in 5th gear at 80 on the beltway. Went past a black jeep and as soon as i was nose to nose with it, the guy in the jeep nailed it; caught me completely by surprise. Dropped it into 4th and hit it hard. By 100mph, i was right at about a car ahead.

DAMN!!!! What the hell is in this damn jeep?

I slowed cause by that time, this run was over. He came past me and it had the SRT-8 badge on the back. Wow, now that explains it. So I decide that we will have a real run. I dropped it into 3rd, we get even. He gives me the go sign. Immediately, I am about a half car ahead. Hit 4th and walked him pretty good. By 120, I was about 3 or 4 cars ahead.

What got me was that there was some reflective numbers on the driver's side quarter panel about 3 inches from the hood. They were TX_______ (the dashes represent numbers that i have no clue what they were)

It never even phased me until i had beat him the 2nd time. After I was that far ahead of him, I went ahead and pulled into his lane. As soon as I had shut it down and got back to the speed limit, the fugger shoots me with radar. My Ka band goes crazy. Was this really an undercover cop??? Either way, he slowed all the way down too and stayed about 200 yards back from me. Turned off his radar and exited. I was scared ****less.

This was most likely the last race in my car NA. Monday the procharger goes on. I was happy that the last one ended my way. Those jeep SRT-8's are pretty damn quick though for a heavy *** SUV.

Good kill. I seen one run consistent 12.8s all night long. Don't know what mods he had, but it wasn't that loud when it passed by.

Fortunately for you it was a jeep. If it was a charger srt-8 you would have been embarassed. Im not saying that to be rude, but im speaking from expierence. I was with my buddy in his lightly modded 07 GT and we raced a charger srt-8 on the freeway. We both hit 130 and the guy had a good 3 cars on us. Those chargers are sick. But good kill though.

SRT-8 Jeeps are brutal from a dead stop, but still pull from anywhere regardless. Good run, Mac. You think it was a undercover Officer?

Nice runs!
Are you sure you didn't just pass a Cop somewhere else on the road, or perhaps a false alarm on your radar? I'd figure if a Cop was in that Jeep would love to get you for street racing, speeding, reckless driving, etc.

i thought the same thing, but he had some reflective numbers and whatnot right in front of his door. Those decals are notorious with state and county employeed vehicles. I'm not for sure if he was undercover. I am pretty sure there wasnt a police cruiser around cause there were just a couple other cars on the road at the time and i know they werent cops, (couple minivans and such). I only have my suspisions for two reasons.

1) around here, cops seize drug vehicles and the police dept keep them and make them cruisers. There are a couple F-350 4x4 FX4's around here that are lifted and everything. They are police trucks; drug seized. Other vehicles as well, but the trucks are what i remember for sure.

2) cops around here, especially in the white chargers with white police decals, will try to race people and then pull them over for street racing. had a cop try to suck me in like that once, i almost fell for it.

Basically, i'm just saying that i'm not sure if it was an undercover FOR SURE, but if it was, he was one cool **** for not pulling me over.

Isn't that entrapment? A police office bating you into a race and then arresting you for it?
