Someone seems to be calling me out...
Seems to be the week / month of call outs.
To run 13s that TPI is going to need a cam, heads, and supporting mods and maybe a small shot. Guy down the road from me has a C4 full boltons, heads / cam, slicks and barely hits low 14s, with a dip once last November into high 13s (13.9 if I remember right, I'll ask him). Don't think you'll have an issue.

Pat, a few bolt ons, and exhaust will absolutely put a TPI Vette in the 13's.
Not that I'm praising the TPI by any means, they're just not that slow in a C4.
we are two writers who can give some track a ton of press in exchange for letting us make a few grudge passes...our thoughts are that, if his car really is stock and runs in the 15s, it might not be a very even race, so wed like to stagger the start like they do on pinks...if no one will let us do that, we will have to bracket race. im not a big fan of the staggered start, but this is just supposed to be a little grudge match.
subtexel (or others) what do you guys make of that dragtimes link he posted? a tpi car with 3.09 gears and "magnaflow exhaust" running 13.80s, at -600 DA...

Let's not be silly here. Your buddy with a heads, cam, slicks C4 running 14's is a fool...Since the TPI cars ran low 14's right out of the factory.

These are cars with god knows how many miles, etc.. on them. Went over and talked to him, his run was a 13.65 @ 104 on street tires not DRs like I had thought.
Well Pat, I know for a fact that US 41 down here will let you do just about anything you want, it's a hike for you though. What I don't understand is how this guy can talk all big and bad if his car is stock[/SIZE]. I also tend to agree with Erik in that a TPI Vette should be a mid 14 second car, so those Drag Times numbers make a little sense, keep in mind -600 da is a big deal.
Although, that would seem quite odd that a writer in the automotive industry wouldn't understand how the world works. So...Maybe he's not being quite truthful as to whats done to his car.
I find that most Vette owners...(Looks around) at least the uninformed ones, believe that Corvettes are the fastest thing on the street. So far, that they can't believe something like an old Dodge could possibly be faster than their rocket ship.

Either way, post up the results ROTM.
when i spoke to him about us racing, he said "youre probably going to kill me", at which point we talked about staggering the start some how. he told me that the only work done to the car was removing the "smog junk".
erik, i talked to a member here at the M&G who has a mid 12 second sn95, and he told me that he had a TPI auto vette and racing in this area, he did a few little mods and i believe that he told me that he only broke a bit into the 14s.
that track where that vette ran is old bridge raceway. it is 178 feet above sea level, and he claimed to have run his best time on march 30, 2008...the high that day was 39 degrees with a pressure of 30.68 and a humidity of 31%...those numbers (according to the DA calc im using) gives me a DA of -1948...not -600. for comparison, using that same date at lapeer, the DA was -345...and the DA today there was 2304...

I dont know if they do or not...but I dont see any point in that...I want to see what times im turning if im going to make a pass. who knows, with my current cam, it might be two 15 second cars racing...
The C4s arent that fast, a Dodge boy should be able to take one. If not I know of a Pontiac that can.

You still get your time slip at Milan's NO ET Nationals, they just cut the slip in half and each driver gets their own half. At least that was how it worked when I went last year.....but it is pretty damn pricey. Also, I don't know if they do the whole 'spot you out X cars' thing.
